Miranda looked at Seth, still worried. "This drug doesn’t have any side effects, right? Will there be any aftereffects?"
Seth paused, seemingly contemplating how to respond.
At that moment, Nash started to show signs of waking up, moving his fingers slightly.
Miranda’s face lit up with joy, and she focused all her attention on him.
"Nash," Miranda gently shook him. "Are you feeling better now? You should be fine, right?"
She wasn’t sure. She didn’t understand these drugs, but she trusted that her father would have a solution.
Nash opened his eyes, his head pounding, and after a moment, he focused on Miranda’s face.
"Nash, it’s me, Miranda. Are you okay?" she asked anxiously.
Nash sat up. As soon as he moved, the guns around him were immediately aimed at him. The guards still could not relax.
Seeing their wariness, Miranda stepped in to defend him. "What are you doing? Why are you pointing guns at him? He’s my boyfriend, my future husband. Show some respect!"
The guards, being Seth’s men, ultimately took their cues from him.
Nash remained silent, not uttering a single word as he took in his surroundings.
Seth, curious, scrutinized him and asked, "Nash, do you know who I am?"
Nash stared at Seth. "You're quite something. You managed to escape from prison, keep your loyal followers, and evade the police."
Seth laughed. "It's not hard to make people obey."
