Francisco chimed in, “Mom, how about I hire a maid for you? I can’t come here often, and I don’t feel comfortable with you staying alone here.”

Samantha looked at him and replied, “I don’t like being served, and it’s easier for me to do it myself.” Maisie lowered her head. Samantha used to be a member of the Bouchers. Francisco followed her into the kitchen and stood next to her. With a grin on his face, he said, “Little goddess, are all married women as gentle and virtuous as you?”

Maisie glanced at him and replied, “Do I look gentle and virtuous to you?”

Francisco crossed his arms in front of his chest and leaned against the cupboard.

“Well…” He paused for a moment before continuing. “If I had met you earlier, you might have been my wife now.”

Maisie sprinkled the water on his face.” What are you thinking?”

Francisco giggled and then asked earnestly, “When will you pay me back the two meals you owe me?”

She thought for a while and replied, “It depends on my mood?”

Francisco pressed on. “Will there be girls?” Maisie was taken aback. She turned her head around to look at him and chuckled.” Mr. Boucher, do you still need me to introduce girls to you?”

Francisco scratched the tip of his nose and replied, “Well, there’s a chance that the girls you know are more reliable, so do you have any other sisters?”
