Chapter 109
When Rosalie anved at Rebecca’s place, it was around ten o’clock.
Rebys was Wing in bed, wearing her reading glasses and engrossed
ta book
Spotting Rosalie, she quickly put down her book and smiled warmly. Rose, you’re here.”
“Grandma.” Rosalie smiled back, sitting beside Rebecca’s bed. “What are you reading**
“It’s a romance novel,” Rebecca replied.
Rosalie peeked at the cover out of curiosity. Indeed, it was one of those girly romance novels.
She exclaimed, “Grandma, you’re actually reading a romance novel?”
“What’s wrong with that? Just because I’m old, I can’t read romance novels anymore? Rebecca’s tone was serious, but she didn’t actually seem angry. “Can only young people like you read them? Do you look down on me, an old woman?”
Though Rebecca sounded stern, she wasn’t genuinely upset.
“Oh, Grandma, that’s not what I meant at all,” Rosalie reassured her quickly. “I didn’t expect you to still have such a youthful heart. That’s wonderful! You’re my favorite kind of grandma.”
Rosalie actually quite liked people who grew more childlike as they aged. She felt that such souls were more interesting than those who pretended to be mature and worldly, regardless of their age.
She hoped that when she grew old and couldn’t walk anymore, she could still read a romance novel. When she read about the male lead
ng on the female lead, her heart would race, and she would
enthusiastically ship the couple
But would she like Rebecca, end up sitting alone in bed?
Rebecca’s husband had passed away over a decade ago, and Rosalie hadn’t even met him. She remembered that when Rebecca adopted her ten years ago, she wasn’t as old as she was then.
Back then, Rebecca was still in good health. Over the years, time had taken its toll. Rebecca’s back had become more hunched, her face more lined, her hair alm st completely white.
Rosalie suddenly felt very sad.
Everyone had to leave the world at some point. In the long river of history, everyone had to go.
Thinking about Rebecca’s age. Rosalie suddenly felt waves of pain in her heart. She couldn’t imagine what it would be like when Rebecca left. She couldn’t bear the thought of losing Rebecca.
Lost in her thoughts, Rosalie felt her nose tingle and her eyes suddenly turn red.
Rebecca looked at Rosalie with concern. She took Rosalie’s hand, and asked worriedly. “What’s wrong? Did Theo bully you? Tell me if he did! I’ll teach him a lesson for you.”
“Grandma………” Rosalie rushed into Rebecca’s arms, and carefully
embraced her. “I just suddenly missed you. Seeing you makes me so
happy.”
Rosalie didn’t voice her worries. The day would come sooner or later, and she believed Rebecca could handle it. After all, with age came a certain acceptance of many things, even death.
Comments
The readers' comments on the novel: Chasing My Pregnant Wife (Rosalie and Theodore)
Unrealistic. What a comedy. If Sebastian and Rosalie are cousins, their families must have already prevented them to be together abroad. Isn't it bizarre that nobody is doing something to let them know of their family relationship? And pls stop putting Aurora in a high pedestal. Your readers want Rosalie to be genuinely happy, free of stupid misunderstanding. Thank you....
Another garbled story with lots of gibberish. Absolute rubbish. I got to chapter 26 and can't anymore...
Too many people involve.. sigh~ this is like the most angst novel i've read.....
I just wish one thing...that the writer will not bring too many unnecessary and unrealistic twists, too many misunderstanding, miscommunication that gives the reader the hint not to continue with the novel. In the long run, We lost our interest in this kind of unending plot....
Thanks for the update !...
