Chasing My Pregnant Wife (Rosalie and Theodore) novel Chapter 1139

"No, I woke up to use the toilet and switched the lights on. When I did, I realized you weren't there and was wondering where you went and if Steve cried. I didn't hear a thing," Rosalie lied, pretending not to know what happened.

Theodore approached her. "Steve did wake up, but he's fine now. I put him back to sleep."

"Oh," Rosalie said with a smile. "Thank you. Why didn't you wake me up?"

"You were sound asleep, so I didn't wake you up. Don't worry—Steve's fast asleep now, so go back to sleep. I'll switch the lights off."

Theodore made a move to press the switch.

Just then, Rosalie called out to him. "Theo."

"What's the matter?" he asked.

Rosalie looked at him and opened her mouth to say something, but no words came out after a long time. Intense emotions roiled in the depths of her eyes.

"Rose, are you feeling unwell?" Theodore walked toward her, looking worried. He lifted a hand and felt her forehead. "Are you feeling ill? Tell me."

"I'm not unwell," Rosalie said, pushing his hand away.

At that moment, she wanted to tell him that Steve was his child. However, she changed her mind at the very last minute.

If she told him right now, she didn't know how he would react.

She felt panicked in the middle of the night.

Some secrets were harder to talk about the longer they were kept hidden.

Theodore saw how anxious Rosalie was being, and immediately sat on the bedside. "What exactly is going on? Just tell me if there's anything. Did Aurora upset you again? I'll have someone send her away right now."

"No, it has nothing to do with her. It's just that I woke up in the middle of the night and can't really go back to sleep. It's nothing else, so don't worry."

Theodore continued sitting on the bedside with no intention of leaving. "Rose, I have something to tell you."

"What is it?"
