Chasing My Pregnant Wife (Rosalie and Theodore) novel Chapter 1166

"Godfather, Godmother, I'll make a move, too," Yerick said while still hiding behind Wesley's back, sounding slightly timid.

Sydney furrowed her brows. "I'm not your godmother. I'm about to divorce him, so don't go around calling me that. I don't know you."

Sydney's tone wasn't very polite.

She didn't like pretentious people like Yerick who was honey-tongued to everyone they met. She found them scheming and calculative. Though she didn't understand what Wesley was doing by getting himself a godson, it didn't matter to her.

"Syd, why are you so fierce?" Wesley said with a frown. "It's fine if you don't want to be his godmother, but there's no need…"

"I'm just fierce. What are you going to do about that?" Sydney shot back.

She was exhausted, and couldn't care less about her tone.

"Wesley, we just buried Mom. I don't want to fight with you. I've gotten myself a lawyer, and I'm sure things will get ugly if we go to court. I'll expose you for all the affairs you had. Reporters from everywhere will clamor for a piece of the news. Mom's gone and she won't be able to see it blow up anyway, so I don't mind going to that extent—unless you sign the papers before I do so."

With that, Sydney turned to leave.

Wesley was about to chase after her when she turned around and snapped, "Don't follow me."

She then stepped into a car and drove off.

Wesley clenched his fists and sighed helplessly.

Yerick approached him and gently patted him on the shoulder. "I'm sorry, Godfather. I said the wrong thing just now and made her upset."

"That's not your fault," Wesley said sorrowfully. "It's mine."

"Godfather, I'll make a move first. Do head back early and get some rest. You look quite tired too."

"Thanks, Yerry. I'll treat you to a meal next time."

"I'll see you next time then."
