Aurora left Yerick's place and drove back to her home. As soon as she entered the door, she immediately threw her bag on the floor and almost screamed.
Angie hadn't come home all night. It was almost noon now, and still there was no sign of her. She hadn't even sent Aurora a text message.
Where the hell did that bitch run off to? She really had a nerve, acting like nothing happened while such a big issue was at hand.
At that moment, Aurora's phone rang.
She picked it up, and the caller ID showed the number of a police station. The moment she saw it was the police calling, she immediately felt guilty and threw the phone onto the couch.
Why would the police be calling her? What had happened?
Could they have figured something out? No, that was impossible. Could Angie, that bitch, have gone to turn herself in, or had she been caught?
Aurora's heart raced as she quickly ran to her room to pack her things, preparing to flee.
The phone on the couch kept ringing. She ran back to the living room and grabbed the phone, about to hang up.
Just then, she saw Angie calling her. That bitch was definitely planning to turn her in! She couldn't panic. She took a deep breath, telling herself not to lose control, then answered the phone.
"Hello, Angie?"
However, the voice on the other end of the line was not Angie's, but a man's. "Is this Miss Aurora Payne?"
Aurora swallowed nervously, steadying her nerves, then replied, "Yes, it's me. You are?"
"This is the North District Police Station. Angie Payne is your cousin, right?"
Aurora wiped the sweat off her forehead. "Yes. Is something the matter?"
Her heart jumped into her throat, her anxiety palpable.
The police explained the situation, and once they finished, Aurora's legs turned to jelly, and she collapsed to the ground. It wasn't because the police had found out something about Rebecca's death—it was Angie who had gotten into trouble herself.
"Hello? Miss Payne, are you still there?" the officer called a few times, not getting a response from Aurora.
Aurora hurriedly said, "I'm here. I understand. I'm so sorry. I'll come right over."
"Alright, please hurry. And bring a set of clothes for your cousin. She can't wear her clothes anymore."

The readers' comments on the novel: Chasing My Pregnant Wife (Rosalie and Theodore)
Why aren't u updating......
Unrealistic. What a comedy. If Sebastian and Rosalie are cousins, their families must have already prevented them to be together abroad. Isn't it bizarre that nobody is doing something to let them know of their family relationship? And pls stop putting Aurora in a high pedestal. Your readers want Rosalie to be genuinely happy, free of stupid misunderstanding. Thank you....
Another garbled story with lots of gibberish. Absolute rubbish. I got to chapter 26 and can't anymore...
Too many people involve.. sigh~ this is like the most angst novel i've read.....
I just wish one thing...that the writer will not bring too many unnecessary and unrealistic twists, too many misunderstanding, miscommunication that gives the reader the hint not to continue with the novel. In the long run, We lost our interest in this kind of unending plot....
Thanks for the update !...
