Half an hour later, after all the dishes were served, Laila wolfed all the food down, looking as though she had been starved for a long time.
Rosalie and Justin sat opposite her, with Steve in Justin’s arms.
Rosalie stared coldly at Laila until she finished all the food and burped loudly.
“Now that you’re done, tell me about my biological parents.”
“At least give me some living allowance.”
Laila didn’t have a single cent on her and she had to worry about her next meal after this. It would be foolish of her to miss this chance to fleece some money from Rosalie.
“Take your phone out. I’ll transfer you some money,” Rosalie said.
“I don’t have a phone. I sold my phone away. I need cash.”
All her cards were frozen and she couldn’t receive online payments, only cash.
“I don’t have cash with me.”
“I don’t care. Give me cash or I’ll keep silent.”
Laila was at the end of her tether. She couldn’t be bothered with anything else except for getting her hands on some money right now.
Rosalie turned around and said to Justin, “Justin, I’ll withdraw some money from a bank nearby. Help me watch my aunt and don’t let her run.”
Justin nodded. “Go ahead.”
“Don’t worry, I won’t run,” Laila said. “I’m still waiting for you to give me money.”
Rosalie walked out with her bag in hand.
“3,000 dollars only?” Laila said, upset. “You’re so rich, giving me 300,000 dollars would be nothing to you. Why are you so stingy?”
“Laila, don’t push your luck. If you don’t want the money, forget it. It doesn’t really affect me whether I can find my biological parents, anyway. My curiosity isn’t worth that much. Forget it if you refuse to speak.”
Rosalie made a move to take the money away.
“Oh, don’t!” Laila snatched the money back and stuffed it into her pockets. “I was just making a passing remark! Don’t be so petty.”
3,000 dollars was still money, and it could last her a while if she were careful with spending it.
“Now that you’ve taken the money, speak. Don’t you dare skimp on the details, or I’ll be nasty!”
Rosalie’s patience was slipping away. She had no feelings of kinship or affection for Laila who was way too wicked and selfish. Laila was capable of hurting her for personal benefit and wasn't worthy of her forgiveness.
“Your parents were infertile but they wanted a child very badly. They tried many ways and means to get pregnant but their attempts were all in vain, so they ended up adopting a child from an orphanage,” Laila began.

The readers' comments on the novel: Chasing My Pregnant Wife (Rosalie and Theodore)
Why aren't u updating......
Unrealistic. What a comedy. If Sebastian and Rosalie are cousins, their families must have already prevented them to be together abroad. Isn't it bizarre that nobody is doing something to let them know of their family relationship? And pls stop putting Aurora in a high pedestal. Your readers want Rosalie to be genuinely happy, free of stupid misunderstanding. Thank you....
Another garbled story with lots of gibberish. Absolute rubbish. I got to chapter 26 and can't anymore...
Too many people involve.. sigh~ this is like the most angst novel i've read.....
I just wish one thing...that the writer will not bring too many unnecessary and unrealistic twists, too many misunderstanding, miscommunication that gives the reader the hint not to continue with the novel. In the long run, We lost our interest in this kind of unending plot....
Thanks for the update !...
