At their last encounter, every word Rosalie said to Theodore was piercing. Now that she was calm after not seeing him for a while, she realized Theodore's state seemed to be deteriorating.
She bore a grudge against him, but seeing him like this instinctively made her sentimental about their past.
Theodore heard Rosalie's words and looked at her, stunned. After a long silence, he murmured, "Live for myself?"
He suddenly chuckled.
"I am living for myself. I'm doing well, don't worry."
He spoke with a tinge of panic, betraying his true mental state.
He looked as though he was trying to hide something, and Rosalie knew that she wouldn't be able to pry it from his lips. She nodded instead.
"I certainly hope so."
"Rose, you and Justin…"
Theodore paused for a moment, his breathing suddenly erratic as he felt a twinge of pain in his heart.
"Theo," Rosalie said, "my life is my own and your life is yours. It's good enough that we lead our own lives peacefully. Don't bother yourself with my life."
Theodore looked at her in silence. What Rosalie also meant by her words was that she no longer cared about his life.
Just then, someone entered Theodore's office.
It was Wesley with a folder in his hand. He made a beeline for the couch and placed the folder on it.
"What did you call me here so urgently for?" Rosalie asked.
Wesley pushed the folder toward her. "Open it and take a look."
Theodore and Rosalie exchanged glances. Theodore picked up the folder, opened it, and read the contents. His brows furrowed in a look of surprise.
Theodore could sympathize. He turned to glance at the woman sitting next to him. At the very least, Rosalie was willing to come and he still could see her.
Rosalie put the document on the table. "I don't want the inheritance, either. You two can do as you deem fit with it."
The Spencers had raised her over the years and given her so much. When Theodore divorced her, he gave her 5% of the company's shares. She lacked nothing right now.
Theodore frowned. "No way, Rose! Grandma left you a portion of her assets, you should accept it."
"The Spencers have given me enough. Theo, the 5% of the company's shares you gave me are enough for me to live comfortably. I don't need this inheritance," Rosalie said.
She hadn't done anything for the family over the years, and she would feel bad if she were to take too much from them.
Rosalie stood up.
"If there's nothing else, I'll get going."

The readers' comments on the novel: Chasing My Pregnant Wife (Rosalie and Theodore)
Why aren't u updating......
Unrealistic. What a comedy. If Sebastian and Rosalie are cousins, their families must have already prevented them to be together abroad. Isn't it bizarre that nobody is doing something to let them know of their family relationship? And pls stop putting Aurora in a high pedestal. Your readers want Rosalie to be genuinely happy, free of stupid misunderstanding. Thank you....
Another garbled story with lots of gibberish. Absolute rubbish. I got to chapter 26 and can't anymore...
Too many people involve.. sigh~ this is like the most angst novel i've read.....
I just wish one thing...that the writer will not bring too many unnecessary and unrealistic twists, too many misunderstanding, miscommunication that gives the reader the hint not to continue with the novel. In the long run, We lost our interest in this kind of unending plot....
Thanks for the update !...
