Rosalie looked at the situation before her. It no longer seemed like they could have a peaceful meal. Chandra was clearly harboring ill intentions.
"Apologies, I just remembered there's something I need to take care of. You all enjoy lunch. We'll take our leave now," Rosalie said as she prepared to leave with Steve in her arms.
"Wait a moment," Chandra called out to her. "The dishes haven't even been served yet. Why are you leaving? Are you afraid I'll eat you or something?"
"Steve is tired. I need to get him home early. Whatever the matter is, we can discuss it another time," Rosalie replied, trying her best to restrain her temper.
Chandra's sharp gaze locked onto her. After a few seconds, her demeanor suddenly shifted. She smiled and said, "I haven't even had a proper look at my great-grandson yet. Before you go, let me hold him for a moment, will you?"
Rosalie glanced at Steve in her arms and hesitated for a moment.
"What are you so afraid of? I'm not going to harm him. He's my great-grandson—don't I have the right to hold him?" Chandra stepped forward and stood directly in front of Rosalie.
Justin immediately pulled Rosalie behind him, shielding her protectively. He looked at Chandra sharply, as though he were staring down an enemy.
Chandra chuckled. "Is he your bodyguard? Why does he look like he's ready to kill?"
"He's my friend," Rosalie replied.
"Friend? Doesn't seem like it," Chandra said, eyeing Justin. The man exuded an intimidating aura, one that felt almost predatory.
"What's wrong with me holding the child? Are you seriously not going to let me? That's unreasonable," Chandra said, furrowing her brows in displeasure.
After a moment of hesitation, Rosalie stepped forward and handed Steve to Chandra. "Fine, but just for a moment."
Chandra took the baby into her arms with practiced ease. She gently rocked him and smiled. "What a lovely little boy. He even looks like Sebastian."
With the baby in her arms, Chandra turned and sat down in her chair. Without looking up, she casually said to Rosalie, "You may leave now."
"This isn't Sebastian's child," Rosalie said furiously. "Give him back to me!"
Chandra's expression froze. "What did you say? This isn't Sebastian's child? Then whose child is he?"
"That's none of your business! Now hand him over!" Rosalie demanded, stepping forward only to be blocked by the bodyguards.
Justin stepped in front of Rosalie, shielding her once more. His voice was cold and threatening. "Return the child to her, or I won't hold back."
"Well, aren't you bold," Chandra sneered. "This is a family matter—what does it have to do with you, an outsider?"
"This is my child," Justin said, his tone ice-cold. "I'll say it one last time—return the child to us while I'm still asking nicely."
Xyla stood there in shock, completely at a loss. Just whose child was this?

The readers' comments on the novel: Chasing My Pregnant Wife (Rosalie and Theodore)
Why aren't u updating......
Unrealistic. What a comedy. If Sebastian and Rosalie are cousins, their families must have already prevented them to be together abroad. Isn't it bizarre that nobody is doing something to let them know of their family relationship? And pls stop putting Aurora in a high pedestal. Your readers want Rosalie to be genuinely happy, free of stupid misunderstanding. Thank you....
Another garbled story with lots of gibberish. Absolute rubbish. I got to chapter 26 and can't anymore...
Too many people involve.. sigh~ this is like the most angst novel i've read.....
I just wish one thing...that the writer will not bring too many unnecessary and unrealistic twists, too many misunderstanding, miscommunication that gives the reader the hint not to continue with the novel. In the long run, We lost our interest in this kind of unending plot....
Thanks for the update !...
