Chasing My Pregnant Wife (Rosalie and Theodore) novel Chapter 1264

Theodore suddenly suggested, "Rose, move in with me. I'll arrange for someone to protect you 24/7."

Rosalie was taken aback. After regaining her composure, she immediately shook her head. "There's no need. I can take care of myself. You don't have to worry."

"Rose," Theodore said with urgency, "you're right. With everything that's been happening, it's likely we've been under surveillance for a while. I think you need protection. Please, move in with me."

"You're just looking for an excuse to get me to live with you. I won't move in with you, so don't bring it up again. I have to go now. You'd better get a check-up."

With that, Rosalie took Steve back from Theodore's arms. Seeing how resolute she was, Theodore realized that saying more would be futile.

"I'm sorry for being impulsive earlier. At the very least, let me take you home. Please, I won't feel at ease unless I escort you back."

Rosalie nodded. "Alright."

The driver dropped Wesley off at his residence. Exhausted, Wesley collapsed onto the couch. Despite not having slept all night, he couldn't feel any trace of drowsiness.

After hesitating, Wesley picked up his phone and dialed a number. On the other end, Christopher's voice sounded. "Hello?"

"Christopher, Sydney's been hurt."

"What did you say?" Christopher asked immediately. "What happened to her?"

"She attended Theodore's wedding and was shot. She's still unconscious in the ICU now."

"What?" Christopher exclaimed, shocked. "Which hospital is she in?"

"You don't need to know that," Wesley replied. "I called to ask if you have any idea who might have wanted to harm Sydney."

Christopher fell silent. After a moment, he said, "I'm not sure, but I'll investigate."

"You don't know anything?" Wesley snapped. "Sydney left me and chose to be with you, but you're clueless about everything concerning her! What good are you?"

"Sydney left me after divorcing you. She's not with me. Wesley, if you couldn't protect the woman you love, don't project your incompetence on others. She was with you when this happened. Maybe you should reflect on whether this is your fault."

With that, Christopher hung up the phone.
