"Okay! I'll pick them up right away."
Angie was a coward who feared the strong and bullied the weak. She was arrogant online, engaging in cyberbullying with no hesitation. However, when it came to real-life confrontations with someone stronger, she was terrified and dared not resist.
"Did I tell you to pick it up with your hands? Get down on the floor and use your mouth to pick it up!" Maeve glared at her with a menacing look.
The other female inmates stepped forward and gave Angie warning glares.
"Did you hear what Maeve said?"
Angie was trembling with fear. She got down on the floor, opened her mouth, and began to pick up the nuts.
At that moment, a guard passed by and knocked on the iron door of the cell with a baton. "What are you doing?"
The door of the cell was opened, and the guard saw the nuts on the ground. "Where did these nuts come from? You're living so comfortably, huh? Did you smuggle them in?"
The inmates often engaged in smuggling, usually bringing in snacks, cigarettes, and sometimes even phones. However, if the guards found out, everything would be confiscated immediately.
"Everyone, line up on the side!"
The guard, a strong and intimidating woman, made the other female prisoners quickly move aside. She then searched through the beds, especially Maeve's. She found many snacks, a pack of cigarettes, and a lighter.
"Are you here to serve your sentence, or to enjoy life?" The guard waved her baton. "Throw everything into the trash! Hurry up!"
Under the guard's strict supervision, the female inmates reluctantly disposed of all the snacks.
The guard gave them a stern warning and made them write reflection letters.
Once everything was done, the guard left. Maeve, furious, grabbed Angie by the hair and slapped her hard.
Comments
The readers' comments on the novel: Chasing My Pregnant Wife (Rosalie and Theodore)
Unrealistic. What a comedy. If Sebastian and Rosalie are cousins, their families must have already prevented them to be together abroad. Isn't it bizarre that nobody is doing something to let them know of their family relationship? And pls stop putting Aurora in a high pedestal. Your readers want Rosalie to be genuinely happy, free of stupid misunderstanding. Thank you....
Another garbled story with lots of gibberish. Absolute rubbish. I got to chapter 26 and can't anymore...
Too many people involve.. sigh~ this is like the most angst novel i've read.....
I just wish one thing...that the writer will not bring too many unnecessary and unrealistic twists, too many misunderstanding, miscommunication that gives the reader the hint not to continue with the novel. In the long run, We lost our interest in this kind of unending plot....
Thanks for the update !...
