Theodore silently kept the documents and put them back in his jacket. 

“Do you feel relieved now? Have a good rest, and wait for a suitable heart donor. You’ll be fine.” 

“Theo, do you know?” A trace of melancholy flashed past Cynthia’s eyes. “I originally felt hopeless and was imagining the worst, but now … I waited for the day when you’re finally divorced, and now, my heart is filled with hope again. After a moment’s thought, she said with feigned empathy, “Theo, I know you two have been together for a long time and you treat her like your sister. The sudden divorce probably left you feeling a little empty inside.” 

She held his hand, and gently rubbed her fingers across the back of his hand.

She didn’t mind Theodore giving Rosalie that house. She didn’t want a house that Rosalie lived in before, anyway.
