Chapter 45
A sharp pain shot through Theodore’s arm, but he remained composed and nonchalant.
“Mom, Dad, you’re here.”
Wesley tugged at his tie and awkwardly cleared his throat. “If you
have something to discuss, you should move to your room for privacy. Aren’t you afraid of being seen and laughed at for doing that here? Were you two in that much of a hurry?”
Rebecca walked over with her cane, smiling warmly. “I don’t think you’re in that much of a hurry. Otherwise, why is Rose’s belly still flat? Theo, it seems like you need to be even more anxious.”
Theodore furrowed his brow, a hint of embarrassment flashing in his eyes. “Grandma, it’s not what you think.”
“You pinned your wife down on the couch and kissed her
passionately. How else should we interpret that?”
Rebecca didn’t beat around the bush. After all, they were all adults who were experienced in these matters. There was no need to pretend otherwise.
Theodore was at a loss for words. If no one had come in, he couldn’t guarantee what might have happened next.
Rosalie seemed frightened. She quickly got up from the couch and ran to Rebecca’s side, holding onto her arm.
“Grandma, please stop.”
Seeing her granddaughter–in–law blush, Rebecca smiled kindly yet mischievously. “What’s there to be embarrassed about? Shouldn’t your belly be showing by now?”

Rebecca gently patted her flat abdomen. “Theo, how about we give you some space in the living room now? We’ll leave first. You work hard and make sure Rose has a baby.”
Rosalie’s eyes widened as she shook Rebecca’s arm. “Grandma, please stop!”
Where was her sense of shame?! Such vulgar words! It was so embarrassing!
Rosalie felt like she couldn’t show her face. She hid behind the old lady, keeping her head down.
Theodore’s expression stiffened for a moment, but it quickly
disappeared. To change the subject, he turned and approached his mother. It seemed like it had been a long time since he had seen her. Theodore’s eyes sparkled with surprise, revealing a childlike expression for the first time.
“Mom.”
Sydney Harper nodded slightly in a graceful and refined manner. Her face didn’t have much expression, but it wasn’t cold either. Holding a handbag and wearing high heels, she was wearing a white suit that looked elegant and professional. Her long black curls were neatly tied in a low ponytail.
At first sight, she was an unforgettable beauty. Even standing before Theodore, it was hard to guess she was his mother. Having taken good care of herself, she looked like she was not yet forty.
Wesley stood to the side, keeping his distance from Sydney. The atmosphere between the husband and wife seemed somewhat awkward, as if they were strangers.
The scene suddenly became tense, which Theodore had intended to divert attention from. But instead, it had only made things more

The readers' comments on the novel: Chasing My Pregnant Wife (Rosalie and Theodore)
Unrealistic. What a comedy. If Sebastian and Rosalie are cousins, their families must have already prevented them to be together abroad. Isn't it bizarre that nobody is doing something to let them know of their family relationship? And pls stop putting Aurora in a high pedestal. Your readers want Rosalie to be genuinely happy, free of stupid misunderstanding. Thank you....
Another garbled story with lots of gibberish. Absolute rubbish. I got to chapter 26 and can't anymore...
Too many people involve.. sigh~ this is like the most angst novel i've read.....
I just wish one thing...that the writer will not bring too many unnecessary and unrealistic twists, too many misunderstanding, miscommunication that gives the reader the hint not to continue with the novel. In the long run, We lost our interest in this kind of unending plot....
Thanks for the update !...
