Christopher nodded. "Go ahead."

Sydney walked out of the private room with her phone in hand, and received the call. She said with slight frustration, "What is it again?"

"You left your necklace behind at my place. Where are you? I'll send it to you." Geoffrey's tender voice sounded through the phone.

Sydney's grip tightened over her phone. After a long pause, she finally said, "What exactly must I do for you to let me go?"

Geoffrey had been threatening her as of late.

When he previously forced her into bed with him, he had filmed the entire process.

Sydney was initially resistant, but as time went by, she became numb to it and eventually gave up resisting him.

Geoffrey cut out the part of the video where she didn't resist him, and just that clip alone made it seem as though Sydney went along with it willingly. Then, he threatened to show the Spencers the video.

Geoffrey was a madman who wasn't afraid of sacrificing himself for the sake of getting what he wanted.

Sydney, on the other hand, was worried that if things would get nasty if the Spencers found out about them.

She didn't mind being falsely accused of something, but she was worried that certain members of the Spencer family might be implicated if conflict were to ensue between both families.

When Geoffrey threatened her with the video clip and forced her to meet him, Sydney had no choice but to do his bidding.

If she could use her body to prevent the disaster of having their affair exposed to the Spencers, she didn't mind that. She had been through so much in her life, this was considered nothing.

"Aren't things fine right now? Syd, I've compromised by not asking you to marry me, but you've got to at least spend some time with me. I can't have Wesley monopolizing all your time."

"Geoffrey Carter, don't push your luck. If you keep forcing me into a corner…"

"Do you want to know more about Seb?" Geoffrey said, cutting her off. "How he is doing abroad right now, don't you want to know that?"

Sydney clenched her fists. "He's your son. Why would I want to know about him?"

"My darling, don't be stubborn. I know he's on your mind. You don't even dare to tell him that you're his mother. He's doing very well with Rose overseas. Oh yes, Rose gave birth to a baby boy, do you know that?"
