Chasing My Pregnant Wife (Rosalie and Theodore) novel Chapter 860

Breakfast was a feast that Sebastian prepared himself.

He was helping Rosalie with her confinement, and was doing a very meticulous job with it. He was constantly worried about her catching a cold or getting hungry.

Rosalie had thought that the real challenge came after childbirth, since taking care of an infant was no easy task. The baby would be crying all the time, and she would have to coax it to sleep and change his diaper.

Rosalie was fully prepared to lose sleep over taking care of her baby. She didn't even care about preserving her image and appearing disheveled in front of others.

What she didn't expect was to not have many chances to do all she was prepared to do. Each time the baby cried, Sebastian would immediately rush to the infant room to carry the baby and put him back to sleep.

Rosalie didn't have much breastmilk, and her milk alone wasn't sufficient for the baby. As such, they used formula milk to supplement the baby's feedings. Each time Sebastian prepared the baby's milk, he would carefully check the temperature many times, worried about scalding the baby.

One time, when Rosalie was lying in bed, she heard the baby cry over the monitor. It was around two in the morning when she was woken up by the baby's cries.

Rosalie hurriedly pushed the covers aside, all ready to rush to the infant room to check on the baby.

Just then, she heard a tender voice through the monitor. "Baby, what's the matter? Are you scared of being all alone?

"Don't worry, Daddy's here. Daddy will stay here with you, sweet baby.

"Let Daddy kiss your forehead, okay?

"You smell so good. Darling, go to sleep. Don't wake Mommy up. It was tough on Mommy giving birth to you. Let's not make things difficult for her, alright?

"Daddy will sing a song for you."

Through the monitor, Rosalie could hear the cries fading as the baby fell asleep once more.

Rosalie felt so touched by the scene, she had to cover her mouth with her hand to suppress her sobs.

She quietly left her room to peek at the infant room. After a while, she saw Sebastian leaving the infant room and walking back to his room.

Rosalie couldn't hold herself back, and rushed forward to hug Sebastian from behind.

Sebastian stood stunned. "Rose, why are you still awake? Did the baby wake you up? I've coaxed him back to sleep, so go back to sleep, alright? You should also turn off that baby monitor. I'm around to take care of the baby. Just focus on taking care of your health."

"Don't talk," Rosalie said sharply as she leaned into his embrace.

Sebastian was so frightened, he shut up immediately. After a while, Rosalie released him and said, "Thank you."

Sebastian smiled tenderly at her. "Thank me for what? This is what I should be doing. Go back and rest. I'll be watching the baby."

Sebastian sent Rosalie back to her room and tucked her in. He only left her room when she fell asleep.

That memory would be etched forever in Rosalie's mind. Sebastian was warm, courteous and knew his boundaries, thinking of her every step of the way.

She never did end up all disheveled and messy from taking care of the baby. Rather, she remained clean and neat all day long, looking radiant like she was glowing from within.

Sebastian, on the other hand, lost a lot of weight. He didn't sleep well, and his eyes were always bloodshot.

"Rose, come and eat. The food won't taste good cold."

Sebastian ate while carrying the baby.
