Chapter 933 The Hostage Exchange
Duncan’s face instantly flushed a deep red.
At his advanced age, he simply couldn’t withstand such suffering.
Meanwhile, Emrys expression turned icy cold.
The rage burning within him was focused via a piercing gaze that was firmly fixed on Gideon.
Never before had he felt such a strong desire to kill someone.
In the past, whenever his sisters faced danger, Emrys would indeed become angry. However, his anger never reached the extent it did today.
Today, he was not only angry but also outraged, for Gideon was trampling on his dignity.
“Rys…”
Suddenly, the anxious voice of Cordelia rang out
From the moment she received the call from Osmond, she used Telepathic Formation to contact Emrys while driving toward the Apricot Hall as fast as she could.
Unfortunately, it was still too late.
She was slower than Emrys.
Pushing through the crowd, she saw Emrys unexpectedly kneeling on the ground. Instantly, Cordelia’s face turned cold.
“Rys, get up quickly…”
Cordelia wanted to help Emrys up, but she heard him saying in a deep voice, “Delia, don’t worry about me. I can’t just stand by while something happens to Mr. Rodriguez. My dignity is nothing compared to his life.”
For a moment, Cordelia was at a loss for words. All she could do was let out a soft sigh, her heart aching intensely.
At that moment, Duncan shouted, “Ms. Youngblood, quickly help My Lord up. I’m just an old man, unworthy of his concern. So what if I die? I’m not scared at all!”
However, Cordelia made no move.
Gideon, on the other hand, cussed out loud and readied himself to kick Duncan.

Chapter 933 The Hostage Exchange
you!
He cast a glance at the area behind Gideon. That was where now collapsed Apricot Hall once stood.
According to Osmond, several innocent civilians lost their lives there. These innocent individuals had been inadvertently gotten involved by me. Therefore, it isn’t unreasonable for me to prostrate myself before them.
Thud!
Emrys‘ head knocked against the ground, and he took a while to raise it as he expressed his
remorse.
Gideon burst into uncontrolled laughter. “Hahaha, are you seeing this? This is your revered Empyrean Lord, the one all of you worship. What is he doing? He’s bowing down to me, hahaha!”
The sarcastic remarks struck a nerve with everyone around.
They were overwhelmed with grief and anger. Yet there was nothing that could be done about it.
The governor, Chandler, wore a stern expression as he stepped forward and spoke. “Mr. Rodriguez is frail and can’t endure your rough handling. If you’re after a hostage, I can take his place.”
“Hehe, you?”
Gideon cast a sidelong glance at Chandler, then shifted his gaze to Duncan, who was gasping for breath. He then remarked, “You make a good point. I’m not done having fun yet. I’m genuinely concerned that I might accidentally kill this old man if I exert too much force.”
“So, do you agree to the swap?” Chandler asked.
“I do, but not in exchange for you. Let’s have that beauty over there instead.” He pointed at Cordelia with an insidious laugh.
From the interaction they had just had, he could tell that this stunningly beautiful woman had a special relationship with Emrys. If he could hold her hostage, she would certainly be more useful than Duncan.
What Gideon demanded was far more than just having Emrys kneel and bow to him. He wanted Emrys to destroy the latter’s own cultivation base.
