Chapter 83: Chapter 83: Poison

[Jasmine’s POV]

Everyone in the room paused as we waited for the wolfsbane to enter my system and make me pass out.

But the encompassing darkness never came.

I stared up in shock at the rogue who was holding the needle. He hadn’t given me wolfsbane like Isabella, or else I’d already be unconscious.

So, what the hell did he give me?

I assessed my body as all the rogues leered at my breasts. I tried to tune out their disgusting behavior and focus on what I was feeling.

Despite the freezing cold ground beneath my naked flesh, my body began to warm, reminding me of the time that I had a dangerously high fever. Did they inject me with some kind of poison to make me sick?

No, I didn’t feel ill.

But there was an ache deep in my stomach. I felt like a balloon just waiting to be popped. Why was I so...needy? I wanted someone to trail their hands teasingly down every inch of my body. I needed a pair of soft yet strong lips on mine and to have the taste of a man on my tongue.

Immediately, Gareth popped into my head.

The rogues pushed in closer and formed a circle around me. Their expressions were expectant and hopeful as their eyes ogled my naked body.

As the men stepped closer to me, I pressed my thighs together, wanting to shield myself from them.

But the friction against my center made a jolt of pleasure go down my spine. My breathing became shallow, and my muscles clenched together.

That was when everything clicked. Horror washed over me like a tidal wave.

Those assholes must have injected me with some sort of aphrodisiac—a drug that increased my libido. The only consolation was that the drug didn’t change my personality to make me crave these horrible men. But it did make my body ripe with need.

The rogues noticed the look of horrified realization on my face and laughed cruelly.

Goosebumps erupted in my arms, and I tried to move away from them, but my back hit the wall with a sickening sound that represented my horrible fate.

“We’re going to get you back for all the trouble you caused,” the rogue who I bit said.

“Yeah, but you’re going to enjoy every second of it,” another added, moving closer in a way that reminded me of a snake about to strike. “You’re going to beg us to keep going.”

As they closed in on me, dizziness overwhelmed my brain, and all I could do was pray to the Moon Goddess that someone—anyone—would come to my rescue.

Elliot shot through the dense forest in his wolf form. His paws barely touched the dirt as he easily navigated through the trees. He had picked up on the faint smell of Jasmine’s sweet scent, however, it was easily overpowered by the pungent stench of the humid swamp. The rogues tended to live in such inhospitable environments, since they didn’t want to accidentally wander into the territory of other packs. Elliot had visited this area before, and he roughly knew where most of the rogues were staying.

However, his feet moved in the opposite direction, because this group of men were not average rogue wolves. They were dangerous criminals who were known for accepting the worst jobs for hire. These bastards wouldn’t stay in just any rogue village - they wouldn’t want any witnesses to their horrendous crimes.

As he drew nearer and Jasmine’s smell grew stronger, he growled with rage. His wolf could sense that something awful was happening to her.

Increasing his speed, he broke through the thick trees and scanned the area. In front of him was an unguarded shack. Elliot wondered if they were just being careless, but he didn’t think that was likely. These rogues were seasoned criminals who thought that no one would be able to track down their little hideout.

All of a sudden, Jasmine’s smell seemed to overwhelm the air, causing his wolf to howl in desire.

That was where Jasmine was.

Without wasting a breath, Elliot crashed through the front door. The wood splintered with ease under his sharp paws. The house was littered with fast food bags, and the smell of cigarette smoke clung to every available surface. Elliot tracked Jasmine’s sweet scent to the basement. But he paused at the top of the stairs.

Fury tore through him when he realized that she was in heat.
