Chapter 135
Adrian POV
“Slow down a bit Arya…” I looked at my sister completely taken a back by her words. I told her to go and check on Dylan as she had made her way into the bathroom, what I didn’t expect was for her to come out with the most ludicrous story ever.
Tm telling you…. She’s been blessed by the moon goddess. I think everyone is right, she was chosen as our queen for a reason.” It shocked me to say the least, Arya hated Dylan, she was always quite jealous of her, if I’m being honest. Dylan’s antics and attitude often made her the focus of conversation and the center of attention. Yet all of a sudden Arya was holding her in extreme high regard, something had defiantly happened.
“It’s practically suicide to be speaking like that Arya, you should keep your voice hushed. Monroe spoke quietly, looking at the bathroom door his mate had just gone through to comfort Dylan. “We are all pretty much aware of the situation by now.”
“Do
you think Dylan will be ok?” Nick was worried about his friend, she had a sort of broken demeanor about her that caused me and many other to take pity on her. Only the goddess herself knows what she had been through during her time in the palace, and loosing her mom was the final piece that tipped her over the edge of no return.
“She will be fine once she’s eaten that chocolate.” The poor girl was even thinner now than she was when she first arrived. Before she was claimed I’d go as far as to say she even used to have a sort of muscle to her, of course the humans weren’t fed at all as much as they should be, and they were limited to a certain amount of items a week, but they never went starving, I’m pretty certain Dylan and a few others used to try and keep themselves as active as possible, even when physical exercise for humans was banned in every district. However right now, poor Dylan was on the very brink of starvation due to that bastard of a king, how can someone who is supposed to love you unconditionally, treat his partner so abhorrently?
All of our attention was immediately drawn to the bathroom though when the doors opened to reveal an extremely pale Dylan. She looked positively ill compared to her usual rebellious self. She really had allowed the king to break her, not that I blamed her in the slightest. In all honesty after everything she had been through, I’m surprised it took her this long to crack. Anyone else would have broken down months ago.
“How are you feeling your grace?” She rolled her eyes slightly at the title given to her by Monroe, but nooded her head all the same. This girl could never admit that she needed help, or that she most definitely wasn’t ok. It was sad really, that she consistently felt the need to hide her true feelings, especially when Nick was involved. It was like she went out of her way to act tough for him.
