Chapter 122
“Slowly.” Fiona moaned. “I mean, that part. Yes. A little lower.”
Eliah’s hands pressed firmly against Fiona’s back, kneading the tension that had built from clays of lying in bed. He worked methodically, but Fiona’s exaggerated groans of satisfaction filled the small room. Since everyone has left, Fiona finally decided to stop the pretense and wake up. Obciously, the first thing that she ask was for him to give her a massage.
“Yes right there. A litle lower,” she said, her words drawn mit as she shifted slightly to guide his hands.

She turned her head just enough to glance at him, a playful grin tugging at her lips. “Says the prince who’s never been stuck in bed for days. I‘ delicate, Your Highness. Treat me like the treasure Lam

He rolled his eyes, but a small smark nigged at his lips as he continued. His hands moved lower down her back, eliciting another groan that made his ears twitch
“Fiona,” he said, pressing a particularly tense spot. “You sound like we’re doing something very inappropriate right no
She chuckled, ber shoulders shaking slightly beneath his hands, “What I’m just appreciating your effort. Don’t stop, though. You’re better at this than I expected: Maybe you missed your calling.”
Elijah sighed, shaking his head as he moved to her lower back, where she winced slightly. “You really are acting like a pampered princess.”
She reached up to swat at his arm lazily. “I deserve it. I’ve been poisoned, and nearly died, and now my back feels like it’s been used as a punching bag. If that doesn’t call for royal treatment, I don’t know what does”
“You’re insufferable,” Elijah muttered, though the faint smile on his face betrayed his amusement. “Anything else. Your Highness?”
“My legs Fiona said instantly, flipping onto her side with a dramatic flourish. They feel like logs. Fix it.”
Elijah stared at her for a moment, his hands still, “Log?”
“Yes, heavy, useless, ungraceful logs,” she said, patting her thigh. “Start here. And don’t skimp on effort. You’ve set the bar high
He let out a low laugh and sat at the edge of the bed, lifting one of her legs slightly to begin massaging her calf. She immediately melted into the mattress, letting out another drawn–out groan that made him shake his head in disbelief.
“This is ridiculous,” he said, though his hands continued their work.
You!
love it,” Fiona replied, not bothering to open her eyes. “You’re the only one I’d trust to do this.”
“That’s because no one else would put up with you,” he shot back, smirking as he worked his way down to her foot.
She cracked one eye open, lier grin widening.
That’s why you’re the lucky one.”
Elijah laughed. Which surprised Fiona. Since they decided to get married, this was the first time that he gave her such a genuine sound that made Fiona’s grin soften into something warmer. For all their teasing and banter, the moment felt easy–comfortable, even. As his hands continued to ease the tension in her legs, Fiona sighed contentedly, sinking deeper into the bed.
“Perfect,” she murmured. “You’ve earned your keep, Elijala. I might just keep you around”
Elijah dưtri’t say anything at first. Instead, he smirked and shifted, moving closer to Fiona until, with a quick motion, he pushed himself up and unto the bed, Lunding on top of her. Fiona yelped in surprise, her eyes snapping open as she stares at him.
“ilgah!” she said, half–laughing as she wriggled beneath him. “What are you doing?”
He braced himself on his elbows, his face hovering inches above hers. His weight didn’t press down on her, but his proximity made her cheeks flush. “I don’t recall applying for this job,” he said, his eyes locked on hien

He laughed, leaning down to kiss her forehead before finally rolling off of her and lying beside her. “You’ll never let me live this down, will you?”
“Never.” Fiona said with a grm, turning to face him as she propped herself up on one elbow, “Get used to it, Prince Elijah.”
He reached out, pulling her close so that her head rested on his chest, “Oh, I’m used to it,” he said, his arm wrapping securely around her. “Tm just wondering how more ridiculous you’re going to get ”
