Damien lay unconsciously on the damp earth. His nostrils were invaded by the smell of earth, blood and crushed twigs fallen from neighboring trees. His pupils would twirl inside the sheath of lids covering them. The organ which aided the vision seemed too weak to push on the eyelids to pave the way.

His body felt weak and wild pain throbbed across his body. It seemed as though a rock had been dropped on his back. His shoulder hurt ten times it did earlier. And because of the pain in his thighs, it felt like his dick had been cut off. Yea! That was the kinda pain he was in at that moment.

Yet in such state of pain, he couldn't help but worry about where the lion had run off to. Did it run in the direction of the castle? Would the girls be safe? Even though he knew that he hurt the lion, yet he felt uneasy.

He felt the will to get up on his feet, but he wish!!! His soul and mind were willing, but his body had another idea. Who would blame the poor flesh?

Suddenly, he felt a shadow fall open him. He was lying face down, his arms spread on the earth, his chest hugging the lone soil. A side of his face brushing a school of fallen but dried leaves.

Then he felt a wet and sticky substance going all over his face. This time he had no choice but to urge the lens to give light and push the weary lids out of the way.

As soon as the pupils greeted the light of the day, he noticed a pair of red deep eyes over his eyes. When his mind met with his vision, he was able to get an idea of what was going on.

He was so glad that all he needed to communicate was his mind. He was glad that it was the white wolf licking his face and was there for him. He wanted to hug Der at that moment, but he wish!

In Damien's body, if felt like there was a bulldozer traveling through his body and hitting every corner of his body, crushing and mercilessly hitting everything in its way.

Damien screamed so loudly that he fart, pushing his body up again. He stayed like that for a while then dropped back on the earth. Silence and stillness.

Damien eyes opened widely, he sat up. All his pain was gone.

At the castle, the girls were gathered in the living room. Mira and Laurette were singing and the rest were dancing. Only Claire was aloof and indifferent.

Claire's eyes strayed to the open door of the living room. Her eyes widened and she jumped up.

"The wolf!!!"

Seeing Der, the rest of the girls jumped up.

"What's it doing here?"

Laurette gulped, her heart thumping violently. Der strolled into the living room, growling.

"Why is it coming closer. Why?"

Mira called in fear. The girls were so scared out of their wits.

"Is it going to kill us?"

Evelyn was already bawling her eyes out. Der walked slowly in till she was standing at the foot of the wooden staircase.

"What's it doing?"

"Run!!!"

Allison called at the girls. They ran out of the living room. Der followed them.

"Why does it keep following us?"

Mira called, her eyes tearing up. Der made sure to lead them towards the fence. He gave them time to open the gate then followed again as they ran into the woods.

"Mommy!!!"

Evelyn called, still wailing like someone who lost a loved one.

Whoever amongst the girls who tried to run in another direction, Der made sure to scare the person back to the right direction.

"Let's stick together. I heard that when we do so, the animal will be confused as to whom to attack first."

Allison called on top of her voice as they ran on.

The wolf scorned. Suddenly Evelyn tripped and fell.

She screamed. Her face was already a mess.

Jada who was next to her ran away to join the rest. Ayisha stopped running and slowly walked to her.

Der stopped a distance away. Ayisha helped Evelyn up. The former was scared also.
