"Why should we believe you?"
The head Cannibal stepped forward. The rest of the Cannibals were joining the circle one after the other until they had all gathered.
"You think I would be here to talk to you fools if I have no reason?"
The wolf snapped at the head.
"You want to choose your words. I'm sure you know that you are outnumbered hundred to one."
The wolf did what you would call a scoff, turning her waist to the side. The mild wind slowly gliding across her big body, creating beautiful waves in her furs.
"Day in day out, if we were to contend, I'd always rip you apart. I guess you should be the one who need to be choosey with words. You don't want to be disgraced in groups."
"Give me the permission to break his limbs!!!"
One of the Cannibals pleaded with the head Cannibal. The head Cannibal took the fellow in his wild gaze. He had every reason to allow him to teach the wolf some manners but he knew what he might be risking.
"Are you certain Lugal sent you?"
"Do not believe --"
The head Cannibal glared at one of the Cannibals who had wanted to interrupt. The wolf tossed her head up. Many of the Cannibals were mad at that gesture. But the head Cannibal wouldn't allow them to exercise their rage.
"I'm not sure why that fool took you all as his subjects. I'd preferred Elves to y'all. Any day and everyday."
"What did you call our Lugal? A what???"
The head Cannibal's face was fiery and brows cocking up.
~ uh-huh ~
The wolf took the warning. That was what he should had done before now. She didn't have to worry a lot. There was still time.
~ follow me dumbasses ~
She borrowed a word from Damien's cuss dictionary. She turned away from the Cannibal who was about to lunge at her. Out of the village she ran.
"After her!!!"
The head Cannibal ordered, holding firm his own stance. He watched half of the group pursue the wolf.
"Enough!!!"
He barked at the second half who wanted to follow suit.
"Who do we leave our territory to if we all follow her?"
One of the Cannibals didn't quite agree with the head,
"It's the honor and dignity of the Lugal at stake here. Our Lugal. We've sworn to give our lives for him. What is a village if we can't protect the interest of our Lugal!!!"
The Cannibal who had just spoken was of a bigger built, stoic and firm, with a death stare stalking his already tough face.
The shortest of the Cannibals was about 6"4. Do not imagine what the tallest would look like. There was no tallest. They had prolly the same heights. Few inches drew the margin.
"You shall stay back at my words. The half and myself will represent the interest of the Lugal."
He took a pause.
"Now if I may."
The Cannibal zoomed out of the village. The rest couldn't follow him. But the stubborn one seemed to want to give it all it takes.
The wolf jumped over the fence of the castle, running like a mad dog towards the castle. The Cannibals who were panting and making weird sequences of noise jumped after and followed her in close pace.
The wolf ran into the castle and the Cannibals followed her. The girls scattered at once. Those who were tearing up couldn't keep up the mood. The swift switch between gloom and fear was really astounding.
"What's this?"
"Why did they run inside?"
"Are they at war?"
Immediately the Cannibals saw Damien lying on the foam board, they ran to his side and knelt beside him, bowing repeatedly. But none of them dared to touch his body.
"He asks that you take him to your village."
The wolf explained to the Cannibals. The girls had no idea that a conversation was going on between the Cannibals and the wolf.
"We can't. We can't carry him. We can't touch him. It's forbidden. He's a god to us. Our corrupted flesh must not touch his sacred body."
~ these fools. ~
"He knows that of course, yet he called for y'all. Shouldn't you be glad and do as instructed instead of laying dumb complaints?"
The wolf snapped at them.
"It breaks our heart to see him in this state, but we can't touch him. I wish we could."
~ you better talk to these fools yourself. ~
Der gave up, telapathing with Damien.
TRY TO EXPLAIN TO THEM, YOU DUMBASS. HOW CAN I TALK IN THIS SITUATION? THE GIRLS WILL FIND OUT. ALSO, I CAN'T STAY HERE FOR NOW. TRY TO UNDERSTAND.
The wolf walked closer to the Cannibals.
