My mind buzzed in disbelief as I watched Leo kneel, pulling out a ring while more and more people gathered around us.

They were chanting, "Say yes! Say yes!"

This was supposed to be the moment I'd longed for over the past seven years. The words "marry me" should have been the ones I had dreamed of hearing from him.

I had imagined feeling ecstatic, rushing into his arms, and eagerly saying yes.
