Chapter 123 I’m Not Sleeping with Him 

This was what social humiliation felt like, wasn’t it? Bella should’ve never agreed to that call with Dominic. Her image was now thoroughly destroyed.

On their way to the destination, Bella asked Lia, trying to be subtle, “Lia, do I snore when I sleep?” 

Liaglanced at Bella “Nope. You’re a quiet sleeper. If anyone’s snoring, it’s probably me. My sinus problems were acting up last night, Why? Did Dominic hear it? Let him hear it, then. It’s not like I’m sleeping with him.” 

Bella sighed helplessly. Would it be too late now to explain to Dominic that she wasn’t the one snoring? However, if she brought it up, wouldn’t that make her look like she was trying too hard? 

When they reached the sunlit beach, they found a perfect spot to settle down. They weren’t in a rush to hit the water. 

The heat from the sun simmered over the sand, the sky a deep blue above the glistening ocean. For Bella, this was all new and exciting. She grew up in Joville, far inland, so this was her first time seeing the sea in real life. 

It was nothing like the photos she had seen online. Here, everything felt vibrant, alive, and utterly real. 

When Lie and Bella stepped out of the changing moms in their bikinis, Oscar’s face turned beet red. He couldn’t even look at them. 

Bella wore a light cover–up over her swimsuit and bought herself a coffee to wake up. However, she couldn’t help it and took a nap on a beach chair. 

She woke to the noises of chatter and laughter all around. The beach had gotten busier, and there were women in swimsuits everywhere, leaving Oscar hopelessly overwhelmed with where to look 

Bella chuckded and nudged Lia. She suggested that they should change things up the next day. Maybe some sightseeing so that Oscar could get something out of this trip besides the awkward beach moments. 

They spent the rest of the day enjoying the beach. By the time they returned to the hotel, exuustion had fully taken hold. None of them even bothered with dinner before crashing into bed. 

Bella was an early nser by nature. Since they had gone to bed so early, she found herself awale before dawn. Lia was still fast asleep, snoting softly beside her. Feeling hungry, Bella made herself a plate of spaghetti and sat by the window while gazing at the silent city outside. It was nothing like the bustling, lively scene from the day before. 

At this hour, the stillness gave the city a a strange kind of beauty–a sense of being the only one awake in a world that had gone to sleep. 

When she checked her phone, there were no missed calls or messages. She felt an odd mix of relief and disappointment. Part of her had expected Dominic to text her. At the same time, it was a good thing he hadn’t. Maybe his interest had just been a fleeting whim, and that was probably for the best, 

Suddenly, a woman’s voice rang out from the hallway outside. “Please don’t leave me! I’m begging you! 

Bella was taken aback. This was a luxury hotel with good soundproofing. However, if someone was shouting right outside their door, it was impossible not to hear. Bella’s curiosity was piqued as she tiptoed over to the door and pressed her ear against IL All she could make out was the sound of a woman’s sobbing, followed by the heavy slam of a door.
