Chapter 136 You Know Too Much 

Bella telt her heart drop. “Is that really why you must tell him?” 

Ian was amused by her question. Chuckling, he said, “Your brain really works in a special way as even your train of thought is unique. Aren’t you the slightest bit curious as to why I’m doing it for Dominic?” 

Bella immediately came to her senses as she asked inquisitively, “Judging from your words, you’re just here to spy on me. Am I wrong?” 

Lan was disappointed as he said, “You’re so stupid. Forget it, I’m leaving. You can take your time to think about it.”

She felt baffled. What other reasons could there possibly be other than monitoring her? 

Later on, she busied herself with work in the hospital, so she did not have time to think about anything 

She had just returned to her office when her supervisor called for her to talk about a complicated surgery that she did in the morning. Hence, she remained busy until the afternoon. 

When she was finally free and remembered that she had to take her medication, she suddenly realized that the medication that she had left in her drawer was missing. 

After flipping through her things, she gave up. She didn’t dare to ask her colleagues if they had seen her medication either. 

There were too many workers in the hospital, so it was hard to pinpoint who could have taken it. 

Hence, she could only wait until she had finished her shift before heading to the pliarmacist to collect more pills. 

At around 4:00 pm, the cardiac department had scheduled another surgery, Lan was the lead surgeon, and Bella was tasked with assisting him. 

Bella knew that the hospital director had arranged it that way as he wanted to train her. He wanted her to spend more time with lan and learn from him. 

she didn’t know about his capabilities in other aspects, but she had to admit that lan was a much more skilled surgeon than she was.. 

The surgery lasted for more than five hours, and it was almost 9:00 pm by the time they had finished. None of them had the time to eat, and Bella was starving- 

So, she immediately changed her clothes and ordered some takeout the moment she left the operating room. 

She glanced at tan, who was standing beside her, and asked, “I’m ordering takeout. Do you want to eat something? 

She had assumed people like Tan would be particularly picky with their food. She only asked him out of manners, and she did not expect to see him nod in agreement. 

He said, “Sure, I’m also hungry. You can just order another share of whatever you’re having. We still need to stay and observe how the patient is once they wake up from the anesthesia, so we can’t leave for the time being ” 

Once their food arrived, they both sat in the pantry and ate. Lan would take out his phone to message someone frequently. He looked really busy, but his expression remained impassive throughout the meal. 

Remembering what had happened in the hotel last time, Bella asked, “I’m a bit curious. How did you break up with your ex?” 

Lanturned to look at her and said with amusement, “Are you trying to find some dirt on me and use it to threaten me? You don’t need to ask anymore. You already caught dirt on me when you saw us that day.” 

Bella couldn’t help but roll her eyes, “Do you really think I’d do something like that? You can tell Dominic whatever you want. I can’t control what you do. 

“You can snitch on me. What do I have to be afraid of? I’ve been living under his oppression for the past 20 years, and I’m still going strong.” 

Jan chuckled. “Oppression? How did he oppress you? Are you referring to your activities on the bed?” 

Hella wasn’t someone who would get shy over a dirty joke.
