Ian sprawled out on the couch in a relaxed posture, a mocking smile on his lips. “He has never cared about my reputation.” 

Dominic chuckled. “Considering who your dad is, you’re lucky he let you grow up at all. By the way, do you know who your new stepmom is?”

Oblivious to her reaction, Dominic adjusted his tie and urged her, “Hurry up. I’ll be waiting 

downstairs.”

Bella wasn’t used to wearing high heels as they were impractical for her busy shifts at the hospital. Whenever she did wear them, it took a little getting used to. 

Once they were in the car, Dominic glanced at her “Your makeup’s pretty light.” 

Bella’s first reaction was to think he found it inappropriate. “I don’t know how to do heavy makeup…” 

He closed his eyes and said, “I mean it looks nice.”
