Chapter 222 If We Were Once In Love, Why Can’t You Let Go 

The next day, Bella officially returned to work at the hospital 

She had been away for so long that her bones felt like they had gone rusty. The bustling energy of the department immediately brought her back to life. Something about the hospital’s chaos suited her perfectly. 

Due in bent health issues, the hospital decided to assign her a couple of minor surgeries for the day instead of major ones.

The woman, on the other hand, stood patiently by his side. She clearly enjoyed the sight of him absorbed in his work as there was still an unmistakable aftection in her gaze. 

Bella cleared her throat at the door. “Uh, 1 

lan? When you’re done here, can you help me with something? I’ve got a surgery coming up and might need an extra hand.”

Bella hesitated and was unsure whether to stay or leave. Jan shook off her hand with a cold expression “This is a hospital. Don’t grab me like that, Should I call you my stepmother now? Why are you here? Does my dad even know you’re here?” 

Bella’s facial features twisted with embarrassment. This wasn’t the kind of conversation meant to happen with an audience. So, Bella quietly excused hersell.
