Chapter 309 A Woman Will Never Lead Me Around 

Bella recounted her experience at Klein Manor, and Lia was outraged. “That idiot, Gloriana! I swear I’ll skin her alive! How dare she? If Dominic finds out about this…” 

Lia’s words trailed off as she realized that Bella was no longer with Dominic, leaving her without any support. 

Right now, the biggest obstacle Bella faced was Dominic himself. 

After Lia went to a nearby pharmacy to buy medicine and bandages, she helped Bella dress her wound. They sat in silence together. The beautiful weather outside contrasted sharply with their gloomy mood, like dark clouds looming overhead. 

Leonard didn’t come for lunch, but he had arranged for a seafood feast to be delivered. Several bodyguards brought in enough food to feed everyone in the studio. 

This seafood was no ordinary fare; it included exquisite salmon, king crab, giant lobsters, and sizable abalone. The food was prepared in various styles and filled a large table. 

Before diving into the feast, Lia weighed herself and sent the result to Leonard. “If I gain weight, I’ll come after you. I’m about to dig in!” 

Bella had little appetite. She ate a small amount of food before collapsing onto the couch. Her job applications felt like they had disappeared into a void. Aside from Gloriana’s deliberate harassment, she hadn’t received a single call. 

Suddenly, she felt as if she couldn’t continue living in Joville. Watching Lia eat joyfully made her hesitant to leave. 

She only had this one friend, and going to an unfamiliar place felt like being a leaf detached from a tree–alone and vulnerable. Having experienced that feeling once, she never wanted to feel it again.

She even considered selling the few pieces of jewelry she had brought from the Miller family to make a living, but she lacked confidence in any field other than being a doctor. 

She had brought all her jewelry except the pink diamond Victor had given her. But she didn’t want to sell any of it unless necessary. 

Her sadness felt fragile against the cheerful atmosphere around her. As several young women chatted and laughed while eating, she was affected by their joy. 

She shook off the gloom, picked up her phone, and tapped on the camera application. She struck a thumbs–up pose while capturing the moment. She added an inspirational quote and posted it to her Twitter. 

Meanwhile, in Dusna, Dominic was sitting by the floor–to–ceiling window in his luxurious hotel suite, looking at Bella’s post. He took a small sip of red wine, and his expression was 

inscrutable. 

Just up and dressed, Ian walked over to stroke Pudding. He then lit a cigarette. “Did you see Bella’s post? It looks like she got hurt on her hand. Aren’t you worried?”
