sedans were parked at the gate, leaving no space for Leonard’s car.

He had to drop off Bella and then find another place to park.

Bella walked into the courtyard and caught a glimpse of Dominic holding some blueprints and discussing something with others. The sunlight filtered through the grape trellis, casting delicate shadows on him, making it seem like a picturesque scene.

Suddenly, a woman dressed in professional attire with short, neat hair emerged from the kitchen carrying a tray of tea. Bella instinctively stepped back and retreated to her room.

That woman was the same one who had been in Dominic’s arms when they entered the hotel. Bella had waited outside the hotel all night, dreading what might have transpired between the two in Dominic’s

room.

Even on this business trip, he had brought that woman along.

With Dominic’s arrival, Leonard’s place became fully occupied and much livelier. But for Bella, it was a form of torture. Her once peaceful life was completely disrupted.

To avoid running into Dominic, she limited herself to moving between her room and the kitchen. Most of the time, though, the kitchen was occupied by the woman he had brought along, who seemed to be in charge of his meals and personal care.

Whenever they ran into each other in the kitchen, Bella remained silent, like a timid creature that couldn’t make a sound. Magdalena, on the other hand, would always greet her, to which Bella would only respond with a nod before hurriedly escaping.

Bella went to the kitchen to make herself something to eat late at night and once again encountered Magdalena.

Perhaps because she saw Magdalena was only preparing a drink and would leave soon, she didn’t try to avoid her this time.

Magdalena greeted her as usual, then suddenly asked, Do you think there’s something more than professional between me and Mr. Miller?”

Bella looked at her in surprise but didn’t respond.

Magdalena smiled. “Sometimes, what you see isn’t always the truth. Mr. Miller isn’t that kind of man. I’m just his assistant, nothing more.”
