Crushed Affections (Dominic and Bella) novel Chapter 386

The inference was that Bella was being ungrateful.

Bella glanced over the pages of her book as she sat on the couch. "Yes, he's great, but I'm not good enough for him."

"No, that's not what I meant. I'm just curious why you don't want to marry him," Cara quickly explained.

Bella asked in return, "Have you ever heard him mention the word 'marriage'? Aside from the contract that binds me to stay, is there any sign that he wants me as his wife?"

Cara was dumbfounded for a time before hesitantly saying, "But he hasn't married anyone else, has he? You're not his lover. You have a child together, so why can't you just be together?"

Bella didn't want to continue the topic. "Cara, could you wash some fruit for me?"

Cara realized she had talked too much and nodded before entering the kitchen.

At noon, on the rooftop of Fabled Tower, Dominic sat across from Victor and Sean. Around ten men were stationed at the entryway and in various areas, guarding the vast and luxurious private room.

Sean measured Dominic up and down with a hint of arrogance and hostility in his eyes.

Dominic remained calm as he met his gaze.

He was taken aback when Victor announced that Sean was his son. He was surprised to learn that Victor's son was the same neighbor who appeared at Bella's house. If he hadn't proven that Victor had no ulterior motives, he would've assumed that Sean had been around Bella for other reasons.

Nonetheless, Dominic disliked Sean because he felt that Sean was eyeing what was his.
