Cupid's Arrow hit me hard! novel Chapter 2092

Although Duncan was laughing heartily, his words embarrassed Hank again. Hank switched his tone and asked concernedly, “How’s the recovery of your legs going?”

He was hoping that Duncan could never recover.

Hank knew he and Liberty could never remarry because she would never look back after moving on. However, he could not stand seeing her getting married to someone else, especially when that person was Duncan.

He would have felt better if Liberty were dating an ordinary man.

Unfortunately, Duncan was the one wooing her, and he was better than Hank in every aspect. His only downside was his slightly older age. Nevertheless, he had not been married before. People would still think he was out of Liberty’s league because she divorced and had a child.

Even if Duncan were disabled, countless women would still be queuing up to marry him as long as he was willing to get a wife.

“Thank you for your concern, Mr. Brown. My injury is recovering well. I’m in rehabilitation now. If I persevere, I may be able to walk like a normal person next year.”

Duncan could sense Hank was saying one thing but meant something else.

Although he was a crude person, he developed a sharp eye after being in the business world for many years.

He knew Hank and the entire Brown family were hoping he would be wheelchair-bound for the rest of his life. Therefore, he deliberately said there was hope for him to recover next year just to spite them.

Did they think they could help Hank pursue Liberty again if he were disabled?

In their dreams.

Liberty and Duncan had overheard the Brown family’s conversation earlier at the ward’s entrance.

Hank’s expression turned stiff. He forced a smile and said, “That’s great. You’re a good person. Good people are always rewarded. You’ll definitely recover.”

Mrs. Brown moved a chair over and placed it by her son’s bed for Liberty to sit on.

Liberty thanked her but shifted the chair to Duncan’s side and sat beside him.
