Audrey would not tell Caroline that she had already met the latter before. She acted as if it was the first time they were meeting.
Caroline looked at Audrey and without beating around the bush, she said, “I’m the daughter of the Fisher family from Jensburg, but I only returned to the Fisher family a year ago. The previous daughter was an imposter. I heard about some family history and learned that your last name is also Fisher. I want to verify the suspicions in my heart, so I took the liberty to come to interrupt you today.”
Audrey did not speak and waited for Caroline to continue.
“Mrs. Stone, I want to get a DNA test done with you to seek an answer to my suspicion.”
If Audrey was the daughter of her aunt, then Caroline was cousins with her. They could get a DNA test done to see if they were related by blood.
Audrey did not expect Caroline to propose doing a DNA test.
Caroline continued, “My mother Belinda and I have gotten a DNA test as well, and I keep a copy of the results here. If we get a DNA test done, we can compare the two results to determine if you’re a member of the Fisher family.”
She and Audrey could get a DNA test done, but it was better to compare it with Belinda’s DNA. At least it can prove that Audrey and Belinda shared the same blood, and indirectly showed they were sisters.
Audrey looked at Caroline quietly for a long time before asking, “Ms. Fisher, did you come here secretly without telling your family? Do you know what you’re doing? Do you know how big the impact will be after you make this decision?”
Audrey was happy to cooperate with Caroline’s proposal to get a DNA test.
However, Caroline was the biological daughter of the Fisher couple and might be the future head of the family. If Caroline did this, she might lose her position as the head of the Fisher family.
Audrey wanted to determine if Caroline was sincere.
Although Caroline did not grow up with her parents, she had Belinda’s blood in her body. Genes were powerful things. Who knew if Caroline would become as ruthless as her mother in the future?
Caroline met Audrey’s gaze frankly and said, “Mrs. Stone, I’m twenty-eight years old. I’m mature in my thinking and have my own ideas. I know very well what I’m doing.
“I admit that I came here in secret. My mother doesn’t know I’m here. I’m also aware of the consequences of my decision, but I still want to get the test done. I don’t want something that doesn’t belong to me!”
