Audrey called her eldest son when Liberty sent Caroline out. When Clive answered the phone, she instructed, “Caroline came for a visit. Get someone to keep a lookout. After she leaves Wiltspoon, erase any trace that she came here.
Clive did not ask his mother for her reasoning and responded, “Got it, Mom.”
“Finish up work and come back early to keep Alice company.”
“Okay.”
Audrey hung up the phone.
Serenity had no idea that Caroline visited nor what she said and did at the Stones’ residence.
She was the most beloved person in Wildridge Manor now.
It was not until nine at night when she returned to Zachary and her room that Zachary had the chance to cling to her.
“Babe.”
Zachary returned to their room before she did.
Upon their return and after the others heard that Serenity was pregnant, she was surrounded and coddled by her in-laws. Zachary had no place in it at all. Even if he sat beside Serenity, he would be pulled aside by his elders.
Thus, after that happened several times, he reluctantly went back to his room to wait for his wife.
He welcomed her when he heard the door open.
As soon as Serenity came in, he took his beloved wife into his arms.
Her warm and soft body filled his embrace, and he wrapped his arms around her, sighing, “My wife is finally back in my arms.
“I also have credit for getting you pregnant, but my mom and the others drove me away.”
Zachary’s words sounded aggrieved.
