Serenity had been married to Zachary for a year. Although she knew that he was the eldest young master of the richest family in the city and that her in-laws were also very wealthy, everyone had always pampered and spoiled her. It made her feel like affluent families were no different from ordinary families.
Though, the rewards that the elders gave her for her pregnancy made her truly realize what affluent families were. They were extravagant!
“Zachary.”
Zachary bowed his head again to kiss her forehead and said with a gentle voice, “I still like it more when you call me Babe.”
“I think I’m hungry again,” Serenity looked up at him and said in embarrassment.
She ate a lot during dinner and was very full.
Zachary asked indulgently, “What do you want to eat now? I’ll go downstairs and make it for you.”
“I want some spicy fries, with lots of sauerkraut.”
Zachary was silent.
“There might not be spicy fries at home.”
Serenity sat up straight and said to him with shining eyes, “Babe, why don’t we go back to the city now and visit the night market? Let’s get a midnight snack.”
Zachary looked at the time and said, “If we go back to the city, we’ll have to spend the night there.”
“I want to stay at Brynfield tonight.”
Zachary smiled and kissed her. “I had the same idea. Sure, if you want to go back to the city to eat spicy fries, I’ll take you there.”
Josh told him that this was how pregnant women were. When they had a craving, they would want to eat it immediately.
Furthermore, the appetite of pregnant women would change, but he had to satisfy her no matter what she wanted to eat.
Thus, the couple went downstairs discreetly and walked out carefully for fear of disturbing the elders.
In the elders’ eyes, Serenity just got pregnant and had to rest well. She could not be out and about.
