Cupid's Arrow hit me hard! novel Chapter 2715

“Liberty.”

Caroline walked over, standing in front of Liberty, and solemnly apologized, “Liberty, my mom is getting old and sometimes acts a bit confused. What she says and does can be a bit excessive. I apologize on behalf of my mom.”

Liberty responded, “This matter has nothing to do with you, Ms. Fisher. If Madam Fisher doesn’t consider me a guest, then there’s no need for me to stay any longer. I’ll take my leave.”

With that, she led her bodyguards, bypassed Caroline, and headed outside.

Belinda was infuriated by Caroline and irritated by Liberty’s assertiveness.

When she went to visit the Stones in Wiltspoon, Audrey had requested her to allow Liberty to compete with Caroline and to treat Liberty as the legitimate heir of the Fisher family, providing her with the status and treatment befitting the position.

Belinda was not willing, knowing that Liberty’s arrival was part of a scheme to secure her position as the successor. So, Belinda intentionally hosted a family banquet and invited Liberty over, but also wanted to use her seniority to suppress Liberty.

However, Liberty did not see them as her seniors at all. In her mind, she was invited by the Fisher family and treated poorly, and with that, she had no reason to stay.

If the host did not welcome her, why bother staying?

Liberty would leave naturally.

She did not come here on her own accord; it was Belinda who sent someone to invite her, and that was why she came.

“Liberty.”

At the doorway, just as Liberty was about to leave, Belinda finally spoke up.

She graciously accepted Belinda’s gesture of inviting her back. She returned to the hall with her security team surrounding her.

Then, everyone else in the Fisher family stood up in unison, no longer daring to abuse their privilege as seniors.

They started making adjustments to the seating arrangement.

Liberty shared equal footing with Caroline. She was a guest, and also the descendant of the previous matriarch. She was supposed to be the rightful successor. Therefore, she had the right to be on equal footing with Caroline.

The only person who ranked above her in this family was Belinda.

Caroline looked at her mother, then turned her eyes to Liberty. She addressed the elders in the room, “In the future, treat Liberty with the same courtesy you would extend to me.”
