Chapter 25 Just Keep Flirting With Him
Outsiders would assume that they were relatives if Angelina became Kristin's goddaughter although they were unrelated by blood.
For that reason, Keith said it was not appropriate.
Kristin was a bit puzzled, asking, "Why is it inappropriate?"
She added, "Since the engagement has been cancelled, the relationship between our two families will be much closer if I become Angie's godmother. Don't worry. I'll try my best to love her. I promise to treat her like my own daughter."
True love in one's eyes was never deceptive.
Abraham took a glance at Kristin and was sure that she was indeed happy when mentioning Angelina.
Abraham was a little hesitant at the moment, thinking maybe it would be good to Angelina if he agreed Kristin to be Angelina's godmother. After all...
Keith said gently and calmly with a smile sweeping through his eyes, "Now that the engagement has just been cancelled, the outsiders will inevitably make a wild guess if they misunderstand that Angie and Ishmael are siblings although they are unrelated by blood."
Then he added, "If rumors spread, it will not be good for both the Fuller family and the Jefferson family. Perhaps, Angie will also be affected by those rumors in the entertainment business."
Keith said in a deep and mellow voice with ease.
It didn't make people feel strange, nor did it make people feel like he was meddling.
After all, Angelina was an actress, and the Jefferson family and the Fuller family were very famous ones. Therefore, if rumors got out, Angelina inevitably would be involved.
Abraham nodded lightly and said in a low voice, "Mrs. Fuller, Angie lives in the Capital City, so she can visit you or go out with you at any time. I think Keith is right. The engagement has just been cancelled, so it's really not suitable to let Angie be your goddaughter."
Angelina mediated in the disagreement with a smile, "That's right. Auntie, I will always go shopping with you and hope you won't get annoyed by my frequent invitations."
The atmosphere suddenly became much relaxing.
Kristin didn't mention letting Angelina be her goddaughter anymore, instead, she talked a lot with Abraham about the past.
While Angelina sat on the couch obediently to listen to their conversation, and depended on drinking tea to relieve her inner tension.
She had already had three cups of tea after a short while.
She finally calmed down but always felt like someone was watching her.
So she looked up.
Coincidentally, she met Keith's gaze.
Since she learned that Keith was her elder and she should call him Uncle Keith, she couldn't look at him calmly.
She didn't have the courage!
She didn't dare to offend her elders.
Even if she met his gaze accidentally, she always hurriedly looked away.
But this time she didn't have time to avoid his gaze. As soon as she looked up, she saw him looking at her with an elusive smile and there was some deep meaning in his eyes.
He lightly raised his eyebrows and glanced at Angelina who was sitting opposite.
Her emotions were easy to be seen from her expressions. Keith found that she was no longer the brave and wild woman that flirted with him and pulled him into the room.
Angelina quickly avoided his gaze and instinctively picked up the cup in front of her to have a sip.
But it was an empty cup!
There was nothing for her to drink.
She blushed with embarrassment and blinked in confusion.
At this moment, Alan said that the specially ordered fruit had been delivered to the house and he would go to wash some.
After hearing that, Angelina felt like she was a drowning persom catching at a straw and couldn't resist leaving here.
So she stood up and said in a tender voice, "Uncle Alan, let me go to wash the fruit. Why don't you stay here with Grandpa?"
Alan didn't catch the meaning behind Angelina's words and just said with a smile, "Your grandfather definitely doesn't want me to be with him. What he wants most is you accompanying him."
Abraham raised one of his arms to gesture her to go, saying, "Go if you want. Just go to pick some fruit you like to eat."
Woo! She thought her geandfather was so kind!
