Chapter 65
Gisele went with Felicity and Aspen to settle Deborah in her room. Then, after checking on her and ensuring that she was alright, they left the room.
“Mr. Witham, Mrs. Witham Senior might not be able to get the surgery done yet, but her condition can be improved by means of traditional healing. Currently, not only is she suffering from a heart condition, she has other conditions brought about by old age too,” Gisele said gently, explaining to Aspen in a professional manner.
Aspen felt that her voice was very soothing, much like a cat’s purr. He wished that she would continue
speaking.
“Aspen!” Felicity tapped him on the shoulder.
Why was he spacing out all of a sudden?
A moment later, Aspen snapped back to the present and said with a smile, “Do you need us to do anything? As long as it is within our bounds, we’ll do anything to make your job easier.”
“Um… Does Mrs. Witham Senior hate taking her medicines usually? Well, if she doesn’t like medicines, I’ll need to make her a special brew.”
Gisele then gestured for them to walk before continuing. “That wouldn’t be too difficult. I’ll come up with a prescription for her first, and then I’ll need Mr. Witham to send someone with me to purchase the herbs
from the herb market.”
She could have gone alone, but she was worried that they might not trust her with it.
Aspen shot her a gentle smile before saying. “I’ll go with you. It just so happens that the reason I’m back in the country is to purchase a batch of herbs. Are you experienced in the field? Do you need more people to come along?”
For a moment, Gisele was captivated by his warm smile.
He gave off a calm and gentle temperament, and he was handsome too, but in a way that was different from how Dorian was handsome. Aspen did not have Dorian’s aggressiveness, and he didn’t look the least bit like a business tycoon. Instead, he looked more like a young man fresh out of university.
“No, we don’t need anyone else. I have the experience. We can go now,” Gisele responded with a faint
smile and a nod.
As the both of them headed out, Gisele explained to him about Deborah’s condition, and how the complication with the surgery was due to her old age. Besides, her arteries were not only blocked in one part, so it would not be so simple to perform an angioplasty on her.
Most doctors would not perform the surgery unless they were fully confident of it.
Felicity intended to tag along, but before she managed to catch up with them, they had already left.
“Since when was Aspen so chatty? Has he taken an interest in Gisele?” Felicity muttered as she watched

Gisele and Aspen soon arrived at the herb market.
They got out of the car and saw the market packed with people. There were many vendors who had stalls set up to sell herbs. They had huge sacks of various herbs arranged next to each other, and the air carried a faint fragrance of herbs.
“Mr. Witham, please watch your step,” Gisele said as she gestured for him to take heed where he stepped.
Aspen chuckled and said, “Ms. Meyer, you can just call me by my name.”
“Sure,” Gisele agreed.
