The director wouldn't dare to assume that these people were here just for Bartley. He had overheard Eileen calling Bartley "Simon".
A Lopez, and the Vice Chairman of the Lopez Group was also present.
The director felt his hair thinning even more rapidly.
What was the connection between Eileen and these high-profile individuals?
The CEO of Echelon Media Enterprises, the Vice Chairman of the Lopez Group, and the founder of a global luxury brand. Each of them was an influential figure in their own right.
And yet, they had managed to gather all these big shots together, without spending a dime!
The director felt as if he were dreaming.
Meanwhile, in the house. Eileen looked at the crowd outside her door, completely dumbfounded. And the crowd outside looked back at her, they were all cautious and quiet.
After a tense moment of silence.
Josephine, having a close relationship with Eileen, was the first to squeeze in. She took Eileen's hand and asked, "What's wrong? Aren't you happy to see us?"
Eileen quickly regained her composure and replied, "I am..."
Her gaze then shifted to the people outside the door, stuttering, "Of course I'm happy to see you.”
A collective sigh of relief was heard from outside!
Rosalind was about to rush in, but Flossie and Sonia were quick to act. They flanked their mother, preventing her from going in and startling their little sister!
They had agreed beforehand, since they were uninvited and had come on their own accord, they had to behave! They couldn't make their little sister uncomfortable!
Josephine nudged her son Egbert and urged, "What are you waiting for, invite everyone in!"
Egbert gave his mother a glance and then invited everyone in.
Thus, Josiah, Phyllis, and Jarvis watched in disbelief as a stream of people poured into the living room!
Five minutes later, Egbert introduced his mother to the three, “This is my mother."
Josiah, Phyllis, and Jarvis glanced at Egbert in confusion.
Then they turned their gaze to the elegant woman on the couch, who was holding Eileen's hand and couldn't take her eyes off Eileen's face. She was also gently stroking Eileen's hair with a smile.
After a moment of hesitation, they greeted her skeptically, "Hello, Mrs. Reed?"
Josephine responded with a beaming smile, "Hello, nice to meet you."
Imagine, she was really Egbert's mother? Completely unexpected!
Once Egbert finished, it was Eileen's turn.
Eileen first pointed to her mother, Rosalind, who was sitting on the opposite couch, flanked by her sisters-in-law, and said, "This is... my mother..."
The room fell silent.
Josiah, Phyllis, and Jarvis didn't understand the significance of this silence. They respectfully greeted Rosalind, "Hello, Mrs. Lopez."
Tears welled up in Rosalind's eyes, she quickly cleaned them and replied, "Hello..."
Eileen then pointed to the man sitting next to her mother, a distinguished gentleman with gold-rimmed glasses, "This is, my oldest brother..."
And then to Chad Lopez sitting next to Blake Lopez, "This is, my third brother..."
Josiah, Phyllis, and Jarvis greeted them, "Hello, nice to meet you."
Both Blake and Chad responded with big smiles, "Hello."
Eileen then turned to Sonia and Flossie, "These two are my sisters-in-law."
Josiah, Phyllis, and Jarvis greeted, "Hello."
Simon then emerged from the balcony and quietly joined the group.
Jarvis looked at Egbert in confusion.
The atmosphere in the house was slightly lightened by the collective effort to set up the table.
In the end, they managed to join the two tables together into a long one.
Josiah and Phyllis quickly moved half of the food from one table to the other.
Thankfully, Eileen was a big eater and had prepared a meal for ten, even though there were only six of them. So, when all the dishes were spread out, it was quite a lot.
But that didn't mean there was enough to go around.
Egbert made a quick assessment, then pulled out his phone to dial a number.
But before he could make the call, Blake had already put down his phone, saying, "Let's start eating, more food will be delivered later."
Egbert stopped his movement.
Jarvis looked a bit puzzled at Egbert, who seemed more interested in his phone than helping out.
He curiously asked, "Mr. Reed, aren't you going to lend a hand?"
Egbert was speechless now.
Just then, Eileen called out from the dining room, "Egbert."
With a spring in his step, Egbert quickly walked over. But halfway there, he heard Eileen softly say, "Thanks, Chad."
Looking up, he saw Chad saying "You're welcome" with a smile as he helped Eileen move a chair.
Egbert's face darkened as he walked over to Eileen.
As she turned around, she bumped into him.
Looking around, Eileen patted Egbert's arm and said, "I don't need your help anymore. Go play over there, don't get in the way here."
