Chapter 0102
Kaia POV
“Shall we take this inside?” It’s Samson that speaks, suggesting we take things into a more private setting.
“Kaia?” He presses by my ear…pressing for me to do something…not just stand here staring at the piece of paper in Alora’s hand. Words seem to fail me at this moment in time, any single coherent word has fallen out of my head.
A nod, a simple nod is all Samson needs to perform his duties as acting beta.
“I want warriors to move in, I want 2 to be inside at all times with the pack–link fully open.” He orders, taking a step towards Alora.
“You best come inside.” He gestures to both Alora and Freya to enter the house, 2 warriors now leading them into my home.
I overtake in the hallway, leading our guests into the alpha office, closing the door as the warriors stand at their post outside. I know why Samson has done this. Without a pack–link should we be attacked he wouldn’t be able to get word to the wider pack. By having warriors at the door, they’ll sense any untoward behaviour by our guests.
I turn from the closed door to find Alora already talking about their journey here, about finding us. For someone who has been asleep for 4 years, she was sure making up for lost time. Maybe it was a level of nervous that kept her talking, that only by interrupting her will she stop.
“You shouldn’t be here!” I cut her off with a loud sigh as I move to sit in Father’s chair. A stress headache was forming and I had a feeling it would develop into a full migraine by the time we were done here today. Her arrival will only cause me undue stress. She’s lucky Father isn’t here, he would have marched her directly to the cells.
‘Can we talk alone?” Her eyes flicker to Samson before landing back on mine.
‘With all due respect, I am the beta and promised the alpha not to leave the luna alone.”
Alpha? Are you marked now….” She asks credulously.
burst into laughter before turning my neck sideways for her to glimpse at my mark–free neck.
No. The Alpha is my father. I am acting as luna to assist him in his duties.”
s he here?”
de is off site, why?” Samson replies moving to stand behind me at the desk. He doesn’t need to be a ack member for me to pick up on his distrust of her.
ook Kaia, I’ve come here to talk about the possibility of us being family…”
amily?”
es, I found this adoption certificate….I didn’t even know I was adopted. I found it in my parent’s things
en I was going through them at Than’s….”
deafening growl cuts her off. A ferocious growl that think at first was from Samson, until I realise it

came from my own chest. My wolf took control at the mention of his name.
“I won’t have his name mentioned here. Not that monster.” I seethe out and I witness the change in Alora’s demeanour at the mention of him being anything but her prince charming.
“He’s not a monster…”
“Blinded by love I see.”
“I’m not blinded by anything. Kaia, I’ve not come to discuss them, I’ve come to discuss us.” Them…she means Hector as well. So she has seen him. He did go to her the night I left, as I thought he would.
Looking closely from where I sat, I can’t see a mate mark on her neck…has Than not marked her. Did Hector break up their ceremony.
“Us?”
“Yes Kaia, you and I. It can’t be coincidence we are identical, that I am adopted. We are sisters, we have to be. Twins…”
“Twins?” Samson gasps by my side as my head rests in my hands at the desk. I couldn’t do this, not now.
“I don’t want this…”
“Kaia…” she tries to plead with me, but I’m done listening. She needs to go back.
“No, Alora…I don’t care…too much has happened. I can’t go back…I’m only going forward now. I need you to leave.”
“Kaia..” She pleads with me again, standing up and placing her hands on the desk. On my father’s desk.
“I need you to leave. I don’t want to hear of this again, do you understand?” Flashbacks enter my mind and I can feel my own head moving from side to side to shake the memories out.
