Chapter 0112
Chapter 0112
Kaia POV
I’m watching Father’s reaction to what Alora has just admitted. The pack doctor staring at his new patient in shock.
“You drank wolfsbane…and survived?” The doctor asks flabbergasted,
“Barely, I was in a coma for 4 years. The machines kept me alive.”
“Have you considered a transplant…” The doctor’s words are like a sick nightmare that just won’t go away. 1
1 won’t be having a transplant, I don’t want to overthink it…I’m happy just spending time with Beckett and Kaia.” She firmly states, her eyes carefully not looking at me once.
“I’d advise….
“Thank you Doctor but I am fully aware of my health and have had all the tests, the best of the best have examined me…just some pain relief if you’d be happy to prescribe…”
“If the Alpha is happy for me to prescribe….”
Father’s eyes gaze upon me before returning back to the Doctor.
“Yes I am happy with that. In fact Alora, you may be excused. There’s just a few pack things I need to discuss with Samson and Kaia…then we will join you.”
“Okay, I’ll put the kettle on.” She offers, standing up trying to hide the wince as her hand goes to her lower back. She leaves the office with the doctor, Samson standing up to close it behind them.
1 knew immediately what was coming…
“Did you know about this?” Father whispers, knowing Alora wasn’t far away enough not to hear at his usual decibels.
“I knew she needed a transplant yes…” I sigh out.
“That’s why she’s here…to get you to be the donor.” Samson snaps out.
“No…she’s not. I truly believe she just wants to know Father and myself. She didn’t know until recently…
I suddenly felt quite protective of Alora against Samson’s accusation.
He of all people should understand what a second chance looks like. This entire pack was about second chances.
“We’ve built a pack based on second chances, you need to give her one Samson.” A low growl emits from me. I turn to find my father quirking an eyebrow at my reaction.
“And what of this mate…this alpha.” He asks.
“He might pose a problem if she becomes a pack member.”
“Can’t we invite him here? He must be worried sick about her.” Samson suggests and I can feel the panic raising within me. Something I know Father will have noticed by my sudden hike in heart rate.

Chapter 0112
“I can’t have him here…”
“Why Kaia?” Father places his hands together, touching them to his mouth.
Now was my chance, to tell them. To tell them both.
The words were almost there….
“Kaia?”
“He isn’t a good person Father. She is better off without him, but she needs to decide that for herself.”
“So you’ve met him?” Father pushes and I realised I’ve already said too much.
Shit….
“Briefly…”
He knows I’m lying, I’ve never been able to lie to Father.
“Samson leave us!” His command is strong, the acting beta following it instantly even though he wasn’t a pack member.
“Kaia…you need to tell me. If it puts the pack in danger, of yourself in danger…”
“I’m not in danger any more Father, not now I am with you. It was suggested I was a donor for Alora…” “By who…her mate?”
My head sinks down, as I try to control what I say carefully.
“Kaia, is your involvement with her mate more than you are letting on?”
Involvement….that’s quite a way to put it.
I can feel my neck already trying to submit, of the words fighting to come out of my mouth as I bite down hard on my tongue. His command was strong.
“Kaia….” He growls out to me, for fighting his command
I take a deep breath in through my nose, trying to control myself but he was the alpha after all.
“I am married to him.” The words come out unwillingly against his command.
“Married to him?”
“When you sent me away I met him a few years later at college. I didn’t know…I didn’t know about Alora. I thought….
I
“Is he your mate too?” Father gasps, realisation dawning upon him.
A slow nod by myself answers his question.
“So he used the mate bond to trick you…”
“I didn’t know…I believed he loved me…” I cover my face with my hands.
It was like the flood gates had opened.
