Chapter 0141
Chapter 0141
Hector POV
Coconut and lime.
Kaia’s strong scent invades my senses and I have to stiffen my body to keep my wolf under control. Her scent was incredibly strong, now the bond with Than has been severed forever.
Tingles….tingles dance upon my skin that hadn’t been there before. My inner arm touches across her waist, kissing her skin that is slightly on display from above her waistband of her leggings.
Had she felt them all this time, smelled my scent from the moment she found me.
I feel like a fraud, her fraudulent mate.
“Are you okay?” I whisper just by her ear.
“Yes, I’m glad he has gone. But I won’t fool myself in to thinking he won’t be back for her. He can’t not be with her.“1
She was right. He would seek revenge, me most likely on the tip of his list.
“Ezra?” I mind–link my Beta who was in the Alpha house.
“Alpha?”
“I need you to contact the Dark Phantom pack and put it on high alert. He won’t let Alora go that easily.” | cut the link when Kaia stirs beside me.
“I felt you reject him.” I take another deep breath in, her scent tickling at my nostrils, possessiveness growing within me.
“You did?”
“Yes, I felt the surge in our bond…”
She doesn’t say anything else, she just nods, her mind trailing off as she moves her head from my shoulder and steps out of my hold.
“What is it?” I frown, what was she thinking.
“Nothing…come on let’s check on Alora.”
I follow her into the alpha house, my senses in overdrive. My wolf wanted to reject Alora and claim Kala
now.
But Alora wasn’t ready, she wouldn’t be strong enough we needed the operation to be a success. I also can’t deny the fact that Kaia wasn’t ready to be marked, just because her bond with Than was now out of the equation, it still doesn’t mean ours would easily heal her wounds…heal the wounds I have also created.
It wasn’t an instant fix and I know that.
“How is she?” Kala asks the doctor as we walk in to find Alora on the sofa in the living room. She joins Ezra and Beckett who are standing over her, Kala now stroking her sister’s forehead affectionately.

Chapter 0141
“She’s out cold.” The doctor responds as his hand holds her wrist, checking her pulse.
“What can we do?” Kala looks up to the doctor, her eyes full of concern.
“Honestly, I think now would be an ideal time to take her down to theatre. Everything is prepared and her being unconscious means she won’t change her mind last minute.” The doctor suggests, gently placing Alora’s arm down back by her side.
“Father?” Kaia turns to look at Beckett.
“I’m ready, I just need you to sign some things…Hector if you could be the witness.”
“Sign things?” I watch my mate’s face frown as she stands up following her Father.
“Yes…” Beckett walks Kaia and me into his office where on his table he has numerous documents ready to bear her signature.
On closer inspection they seem to be documents signing all his business assets and the pack lands over to Kaia. Also a document stating his last wishes.
“What is all this?” Kaia seems taken aback, her eyes darting to me in confusion.
“These documents pass over control of the pack and my assets over to you in the event of my death…”
“What…Father no.”
“Kaia…” I try to calm her, taking a step closer to cast my eyes as best as I could on the documents.
“No… you said that wouldn’t happen..you promised.” She turns to Beckett, picking the documents up and thrusting them into his chest.
“And it won’t my child…this is just a precautionary measure.”
“I’ll give my kidney, let me do it. I’m happy to do it…I’m younger, my recovery will be quicker..” She blurts. out and my breath catches in the back of my throat.
I don’t believe it, he is considering it…his eyes actually look as if they are considering it. A low rumble leaves my chest, a warning shot aimed at him.
“No, it is too late now, this was the plan. The doctor is ready…” I speak up, reminding him subtly of the commitment he made and will not break to protect his own daughters.
