Chapter 0161
Kala POV
I feel tingles across my face, my own moan waking me from a sweet slumber.
“Kala, wake up…we are here.”
My eyes slowly open to find the sun setting, the night sky an array of soft pink and orange, and us parked in front of a guarded gate.
“We are here?” I ask sitting up, it didn’t look like much, just a gate.
“Before we enter I just wanted to prepare you….”
“Prepare me for what?”
“A select few have heard you are returning..”
“Returning?” I repeat, my eyebrows furrowing.
“Yes, you stayed with me before you left for the Nightshade Reformed pack. They will be outside the alpha house, don’t be alarmed…you left abruptly. They will just be glad you are safe.” I hadn’t realised until now that his hand was touching mine, his thumb drawing soothing circles on my open palm.
“Okay…” I’m hesitant in how to respond.I had no memory of his pack, of his people. I’m also now very aware as his hand moves away to the steering wheel, my hand missing his touch.
He had almost carried me back into the car from the restaurant, each time I fought against him he applied his lips to my neck, making me succumb to that addictive sensation.
He was a cryptic person, one minute assertive….then playful as he would ignite sparks across my skin in a way only he can do.
He nods to one of the guards through his window, the gate opening and the car coming back to life. There was a lot of land, more so than at the Nightshade Reformed pack and at first I think it is just field after field, until we come into the central development.
Plenty of buildings, mainly normal sized homes complement the landscape, nothing seems out of ordinary until he pulls up outside a large home.
It’s not the size of the house that unnerves me but the very large crowd having already gathered outside.
“Shit.” He groans as he slows the car down.
“This is a few?” I chide, there must be hundreds of people parting as the car pulls up and Hector stops the engine.
“You were clearly missed…” He humours, before stepping out of his side of the car and walking around the front to my door..
But before he opens it, he turns to face them all…their eyes all glaze over as one, their necks turning in -some kind of form of submission.
As I exit the car, the collective eyes of an entire pack dart to me.

Chapter 0161
“Welcome home Luna.” They all start to murmur, their heads bowing in a sign of respect to me.
“Luna?” I turn to Hector.
“Yes, as my mate you will be the Luna of this pack. Hector confirms to me, pulling me through the crowd
and into his home.
Not only was I an expectant Alpha of a pack but I was also waiting to take my place as a Luna. My head was starting to ache with this level of responsibility.
It was different to piss Hector off, to fight back on what he claims is our bond. But to have two packs now relying on me, expecting me to lead them….I’m not too sure about this….
“Are you okay?” He asks as we walk into his hallway.
“Yes, just feeling slightly overwhelmed.” For once I drop the sarcasm and am honest with him.
“An honest answer for once.” He chides back at me, earning a growl from me instead.
I’m about to come back with a witty reply when a woman flings her arms around me, and places her hands to my cheeks.
“Thanks the goddess that you are okay Kaia. I’m so happy you have come back to us.” She was a sweet middle aged woman that gave off a motherly feel about her. Was she Hector’s mother…
“Erm, thanks…”
“Are you hungry?”
“We ate on the road Aubrey, I didn’t want to bother you Judging by the way he calls her Aubrey I’m guessing she is not his mother.
“I’ll make some hot drinks and snacks to see you through until the morning.
I watch the interaction between the two of them, before they both look at me silently watching them.
“Tea?” She hums at me but I look to Hector for clarification.
