Alora POV 

“No, no he didn’t!” My words ring loudly and firmly within the walls of Than’s office. What exactly has Than been keeping from me. 

“So you’ve known where she has been all this time?” My eyes are fixed on the man I love so deeply, on Than. 

“Of course he did, he’s even sent warriors out to watch my borders.” 

The deceit just keeps hitting me in my chest like never ending punches, taking the air from out of my lungs. 

Warriors at Hector’s borders… 

She took something, Freya had told me that Kaia had taken something from Than and left. 

Was Than trying to get it back. Something he didn’t want Hector knowing she possessed..could it be the demise of this pack. This pack that took me in and raised me…I couldn’t let anything happen to this pack. Mate bond or not. 

“She’s gone?” 

“The invitation was careless, distasteful. It was deliberately sent to me to cause a reaction but she read 

it.” 

“I didn’t send it!” Than seethes out through gritted teeth, his body tense from my closeness to another male. I take a step away from Hector, only realising my hand was still on his arm and his hand was now resting on my shoulder. 

As soon as I step away Than’s body automatically relaxes but only slightly, he was still preparing his body to launch itself across the room to Hector. 

“What did she do?” I gasp out, regret hitting me hard. 

“He’s lying to you as always. Claims he loves you and that he wants to mark you, but he’s been chasing his wife…his luna. Wanting her back.” 

“She’s not my luna, Alora is!” Than roars taking a step closer to me. 

“Yet you married Kaia! Making her your Luna. You might not have marked her, but legally she is your wife and luna. What did you think would happen sending this eh?” 

“My son says he didn’t send it, then he didn’t send it!” Medea interjects, I fear only adding more fuel to the fire already burning out of control. It was teetering on the verge of turning into a wildfire. 

“What a surprise, you piping up. You need to start carrying a muzzle to shut her up!” Hector roars at Alpha Damon, not even acknowledging Medea herself. Completely bypassing her and going directly to her mate. 

Years of hatred now coming out. Old wounds never healing. 

“How fucking dare you!” Alpha Damon takes a step towards Hector, as does Than. The atmosphere in the office was stifling, the power of alpha auras swirling around making the air thick and heavy to breathe.

“Out of respect for Alora I wont reveal the true reason came, but I want you to know that you disgust me 

all of you do.” 

True reason? Was the invitation not the true reason…. 

Hector storms out of the room, his shoulders slamming against Alpha Damon’s…the sheer force making the retired alpha stumble a few steps back. 

I could feel my own wolf pushing forward slightly, she wanted answers…answers to questions I had. Things that keep my awake at night. Hector never lied to me, he might have the answers I need. 

“Wait…” I gasp out, making a move to follow Hector only to be blocked by Than. 

“You aren’t leaving!” Than growls, standing in my path. His shoulder hunch forward making it clear I wasn’t to pass. 

I don’t have time for his possessiveness right now. 

“Out of my way!” I move past Than but he is the predator here, strong and fast. 

“You aren’t going to him.” 

“Oh, yes I am and if you love me like you say you do, then you’ll let me see him.” 

“Alora.” He grabs out at my arm, yanking me back into his chest. His breathing heavy and at my ear. 

“I’m not leaving, I just want to speak to him.” I calmly reassure him as I turn into him, my face looking up 

at his. 

He doesn’t move aside but he does loosen his hold on my arm. His breathing quickening even more as I 

leave the room. 

I move as fast as I can, catching up with Hector who was already standing by his car door. 

“Hector!” I puff out, bending down placing my hands on my thighs to catch my breath. 

He eyes me with concern. 

“I’m fine, just still recovering…I want to know more…about her!”
