I could never reject Alora, I didn’t have that in me. She would have to reject me, or be marked by Than for the mate bond between us to disappear. I’m strong in so many other ways, but not strong when it comes
to her.
The mate bond can be cruel, even now it was giving me hope that she’ll still pick me. That she won’t let him mark her. Always fighting until the very end.
If I got out of that car to face him, I would have killed him.
I was the stronger wolf, there’s never been any doubt about that…I was the first born after all.
Driving back to the Dark Phantom pack, I’m surprised to find both Beta Ezra and Riley outside of the alpha house, seemingly awaiting my return.
As I climb out of my car and walk towards them, Riley is shifting nervously as he stands.
“Alpha, Lapologise…my sister never should have…”

“No, I’m glad what she told me. It makes sense now…why Kaia left a pack when pregnant. Why she needed shelter…she was terrified of him. I just need to know she is okay, that she is safe. I hate to think of her with rogues struggling to survive.” I’ve done wrong by Kaia, she’ll never want to look me in the face again. But as long as I know she is safe, I’ll leave her be.
“She did mention when she first arrived she was looking for someone, an alpha that visited this pack.” Riley states, which piques my interest. Why am I only learning of this now.
“An alpha?” I walk both of the men into my office, turning on the lights due to the lateness of the night. Yes we had enhanced eyesight to see in the dark but it wasn’t exactly sociable.
I sit down at my desk, the map starting to become an unwanted sight in my office now. How can something hold so much information, yet not give any information.
“She said he must have stayed at the alpha house, that she was looking for someone. I said that she should ask you, that you would only welcome alphas as a favour to packs within the group alliance.” Riley shrugs.
This was news to me, I assumed she joined my pack wanting to escape Than, but if she had ulterior motives then she played me well at the beginning. Perhaps, as I thought, she wasn’t as naive as her carbon copy.
“Ezra, I need a list of any alpha’s that would have visited since I started this pack.” A small spark of hope lights within me. I’ve been blindly searching the Kaia for a month now. Maybe I should have asked the pack for details, she clearly made an impact on them. Sharing things with them, she hadn’t shared with
“On it. I’ll see what I can dig up.” Ezra nods, walking out of the office as he dials a number.
“Riley, you’re off duty go home.”

Chapter 0079
“No Alpha, I’d like to stay. I would also like to know tha Kalo is safe. I owe her my protection for how she helped Rosa. I want to help.”
Protection… I feel like a fucking dickhead. Kala was living within my house but only with the pretence on my side that I would use her and the baby to trade her in for Alora.
