Chapter 0089
Chapter 0089
Kaia POV
I was helping with the injured, this is why the hospital needed to be bigger. With an attack like this we were now running at over occupancy.
There were even beds in the corridors with young males only just of age, screaming in pain. We didn’t have enough doctors or nurses, we had scraped through one battle only to enter into another.
I was running around the hospital trying to find bandages to help stop the free flow of blood pouring out of so many.
The alpha’s attack was expertly executed and if they attacked again now, we wouldn’t have a chance in hell of keeping our lands.
Father finds me in the hospital as Samson is assisting me with now resetting the dislocated bones of a she–wolf.
His aura is dark and thick, his anger suffocating the atmosphere of the medical centre that was already struggling with creating a peaceful environment to encourage recovery. Most here will be fine, once the bleeding stops and the bones are reset their wolves will speed up the healing process.
Some were in surgery, fighting for their lives and would need additional support in their healing journey.
“I’m fine Father.” I gasp out as a loud snap indicates to me the bone of the she–wolf has been put back into place.
“What happened?” His eyes take in the room around him, it was a sight myself that would haunt me for years to come.
“The Alpha joined the fight…he attacked Samson and me…” I keep my voice a low sound, I didn’t want to increase Father’s anger as it was.
“Then?” His chest rumbles knowing already that I had put myself in the path of the alpha.
“I don’t know….when I challenged him he backed off all of a sudden. It was really peculiar. All of his fighters retreated and withdrew from the attack.”
“Did you shift?”
“Of course I did Father..” What kind of a question was that, I wouldn’t be standing here now if I hadn’t of shifted.
No human form could have survived the attacks of those wolves, they were out for blood.
I don’t miss the side eye Father gives Samson, who firmly holds the alpha’s glare. Father can’t blame Samson for this, I led the wolves into battle I couldn’t stand back and watch from the sidelines. That wasn’t me.
“Fine, I’ll check the injured. I want you to go home.” He commands to me, his alpha aura washing over me. “I want to help our people, I’m here to help.” I try to fight it but his is the only aura I’ve always had to submit to. I am his daughter after all.

Chapter 0089
“And you’re great at it, but you are covered in blood yourself and need rest too.” Father changes his tone slightly, not the authorative tone of an alpha but now that of a concerned parent.
I look down at my arms and chest, he’s right I am covered in blood. I could do with a warm shower. I don’t even know whose clothes I am wearing…it was the first thing Samson handed me once we shifted back into human form and assessed the injured on the fields.
I try to rub off some of the blood that had dried on my arm to reveal bruises of my own, I hadn’t taken in my own injuries. The adrenaline still pumping through my veins was keeping any pain at bay.
I accept my father’s offer to trade places with me at the hospital, so that I could go back and refresh. I would find rest difficult but I could at least shower and dress properly to return back to the hospital in the morning.
