Chapter 0092
Hector POV
“What do you know about white wolves?” Jude asks me something that I never expected a full grown Alpha to ask me. Let alone my closest friend.
“White wolves?” I huff in amusement standing up and walking over to the side cabinet where Aubrey had left refreshments. I pour myself a coffee, knowing I would need the caffeine after a busy training session and now Jude talking to me about bloody fairy tales.
“They are a myth…a fairy tale.” I grunt as I stir my hot drink.
“That’s what I thought but this alpha, he swears to the Moon Goddess that he saw one, during the battle… at this new pack.”
“There’s no such thing as a white wolf. He must have had a knock to the head and seen something white in the distance.”
White wolves were a myth, a fantasy. Something you tell children as part of a nursery tale.
The story was created to help children understand their connection to the moon, to the Moon Goddess and how they differentiate from human children. The Moon Goddess in her true form, in her wolf form, took on the appearance of a white wolf. An ethereal creature placed as a gift on earth, a connection to her.
Always watching. I think to in–still a level of fear into children, mothers wanting to teach right and wrong from an early age.
“He claims he fought her, that she was the Luna leading the defence.”
“Jude, can you hear yourself!” I chuckle looking to Ezra expecting him to be enjoying this as much as ! am. But he seems to be listening to Jude’s every word, engrossed in this story. What was the matter with these two.
“I’m telling you Hector, this alpha believes in what he saw. So much so that he is already planning another attack.”
And there you have it. No white wolf, just an alpha wolf hungry for power.
“For what purpose?”
“For the white wolf?”
“Ha, he can’t just kidnap a poor light brown wolf if that is what he thinks. Sounds like a headache, I’d stay clear if I were you Jude. If these lands are contested and this Beckett is expanding out without permission, that is the reason for the attack. A smoke screen, a poor smoke screen at that.”
This wouldn’t be the first time an alpha has gained alliance backing to invade a pack.
The last time this happened, the alpha claimed it was because rogues were being trained to carry out attacks. But instead it was the alpha’s own vendetta due to the alpha of the opposing pack, refusing to let his daughter marry him.
Often there was an ulterior motive.

“Did he at least tell you where Beckett’s pack was located?” I sit back down, my hands running through my hair frustrated at the lack of progress I have made on locating Beckett.
“Of course, what do you take me for?” Jude smirks and I find myself sitting up right and forward.
“Well apparently a little girl that loves fairy tales. But in all seriousness…you know his location?”
Jude shows me on my map where Beckett’s pack is apparently located. The area does seem to validate some part of Jude’s information.
These lands are disputed, all surrounding packs sharing borders to this land that has another border by the sea. I can see why an attack was launched if they received intel that Beckett was looking to expand.
“What do you want to do?” Jude looks to me for a decision.
“I need to find Kaia… If this pack..”
“The Nightshade Reformed Pack.” Jude cuts me off.
“Interesting choice for a pack name. If this pack is in danger of an attack, and Kaia is there…we should warn her. Get her out.
It sounds like this pack hasn’t got long before it is destroyed from the outside..”
“I’ll call the alpha, see whether he has information on pack members. I’ll ask him to hold off until we know whether she is there.” Jude pulls his phone out readying to make the call.
“Thanks pal.”
Jude prepares to leave my office, when a pale looking Ezra walks away from the door and sits down on
the sofa.
“Ezra?” This wasn’t like him, I’ve never seen him look so…pale.
“Alpha, I need to tell you something….something I should have told you at the time. But I didn’t…because I don’t know why. It felt wrong to speak of it.”
“Okay…”
“I’ve seen a white wolf.” With all that suspense, I expected something serious…not a joke.
“Really?” I roll my eyes unconvinced because I just know for a fact they do not exist. There is no evidence it is only a fairy tale. I imagine a white wolf often appears in front of drunk werewolves on numerous occasions.
“Where?” Jude asks my beta, a note of excitement in his voice.
“Here..”
“Here?” Jude sits back down next to Ezra, a growl emitting from my chest for their continuing piss take.
