“Victoria, let’s eat.” 

Victoria had agreed to Bane earlier, so she got out of bed with his support and came to 

the table. 

Bane scooped a plate of rice for her and placed it in front of her. 

“Here you go.” 

“Thank you.” 

She took the plate of rice, and he handed her the spoon. 

After looking at the table filled with food, Victoria finally scooped up a mouthful of rice 

with her spoon and brought it to her mouth. 

The rice didn’t have much flavor, and for some reason, it tasted a bit bitter to her. 

Meanwhile, Bane, who was sitting next to her, noticed that she was only eating rice and 

not the other dishes. He picked up some of the food with his spoon and put them on 

her plate. 

Victoria wanted to refuse, but she didn’t have a chance to do so.

her.

eventually calmed down. She was completely drained and almost collapsed against the 

wall. 

He quickly picked her up and carried her out of the bathroom. 

“Are you all right?”

She closed her eyes, appearing exhausted. 

He didn’t want to disturb her any further, so he placed her on the bed and covered her 

with a blanket. 

“It stinks…” she suddenly murmured as she lay in bed. 

“What did you say?” Bane didn’t catch it clearly, so he leaned closer, trying to 

understand what she was saying. 

“It stinks,” Victoria repeated. 

Bane finally heard it clearly. “What stinks?” 

She pointed toward where the food was placed, and he finally realized what she meant. 

He walked over and smelled the food on her plate. 

However, the scent was just the normal aroma of food, and he didn’t perceive any 

terrible smell. 

However, she felt that it was stinky and even felt nauseous while eating… 

Bane furrowed his brows as he looked at her. Could her sense of taste be impaired? 

“Leon, come in and take away all this food.” 

Leon was standing guard outside the door. He had heard the commotion from inside 

but didn’t know what was happening. He walked in and asked softly, “Mr. Morison, is 

there something wrong with the food I bought?”

After the food was removed, Bane opened the window to air out the room. Soon, the 

ward returned to a fresh state, and Victoria’s complexion improved slightly. 

“Are you feeling better now?” 

“Yes.” She nodded weakly.
