On the other hand, Jessie had put in a lot of effort to bring back the food that Victoria 

wanted to eat. When she returned, she was beaming with glee as if she had acquired 

some incredible treasure. “You’ve been waiting a long time, Miss Selwyn, haven’t you?

taste. I think this must be delicious.” After saying this, she eagerly handed the food to 

her.

expression, Victoria reluctantly accepted the food and said, “Thank you.” Since the 

street vendor had packaged the food in paper bags, she tore open one and took a bite. 

“How does it taste, Miss Selwyn?” 

In the meantime, Victoria was still lost in her thoughts and didn’t know what she had 

just eaten. After hearing Jessie’s question, she nodded and remarked, “It’s good.” 

Jessie was pleased to hear that the food was good, but Victoria gave up after only a 

few bites. Seeing that, she hesitated and asked, “Miss Selwyn, aren’t you going to finish 

it?” 

Nevertheless, Victoria didn’t respond; she seemed to have drifted off into her own 

thoughts.

general understanding of the situation. The moment he mentioned the name, a flood of 

emotions erupted from her heart, relieving the pressure that had been weighing her 

down. She had a nagging feeling that there was something she was supposed to do 

but didn’t know what it was until he told her. However, she was aware that Bane would 

not reveal this information to her and that she would only be able to obtain these 

pertinent details from Ethan. So, Bane wishes me to remain at his side, but I’ve come 

voluntarily this time because I wanted to save Alaric. This is the only plausible 

explanation for why I’m here. I’m here to save Alaric! I finally understand the sequence 

of events and know what I must do now, but Ethan is the one who told me this. 

When Ethan noticed Victoria’s conflicted expression, he said, “Miss Selwyn, do 

whatever you want. There’s no need to consider me.” I don’t want her to be concerned

that question because she did trust me. In particular, my response is essential because

At this realization, Ethan’s expression and eyes became solemn as he stared blankly at 

the back of Victoria’s head. If this relates to the question she asked, I’m sure I know
