Anna’s POV:
Blake hung up the phone, his expression darkening as he stared at me.
“What group?” he asked, his voice dangerously low.
1 remained silent, keeping my face expressionless as I leaned back against the seat.
He unlocked his phone, fingers moving quickly across the screen und he found the family group chat. His eyes narrowed as he scrolled through the messages, his jaw tightening with each swipe. The temperature in the car seemed to drop several degrees as his eyes turned to ice.
If William had a heart attack because of what I’d done, I couldn’t deny my responsibility. be at least partly to blame. I understood why Blake might direct his anger at me, but I wasn’t going to apologize for exposing the truth.
Without warning. Blake’s band shot out and wrapped around my throat, his fingers digging into my skin.
The man who had just kissed me tenderly, wanting to be close to me, suddenly transformed, his eyes wide with a terrifying rage and fury that sent chills down my spine.
“Didn’t I tell you my dad can’t handle stress?” he growled, his voice ansformed by rage. “Anna! How dare you? HOW DARE YOU?
His–grip tightened, making it difficult to swallow. I tilted my head back, trying to relieve the pressure, my nails digging into his
wrist.
“Let go!” 1 choked out. “Blake!
Something flickered in his eyes – doubt, maybe even regret – but his hand only lousened for a moment before tightening again.
“This is your revenge, isn’t it?” he spat.
He was right. How could I forgive a woman who coveted my husband? Claire was the root of all our marital problems. The knife that kept twisting in our relationship
Blake slammed me against the car door, then suddenly released me, seemingly indifferent to his own injury.
“Lillian dies, so you make my father suffer. Claire wronged you once so your fabricate evidence against her,” he said, his voice Trembling with anger. ‘I can accept you saying she’s stirring up trouble online, but how dare you suggest she has inappropriate feelings for me!“.
I rubbed my throat, struggling to breathe properly.
– “Blake,” I rasped, “what do you think you mean to Claire? Do you really not know?”
I remembered the look in Claire’s eyes when she’d plunged that knife toward me – possessive, determined, almost feral.
“Nonsense!” he snapped.
Just days ago, Blake had promised that if forced to ghoose between Claire and me, he would send Claire away. Now I realized how easily Claire’s self–harm had manipulated him into keeping her close
Your dear sister Claire is the purest, most innocent sister in the world,” I said bitterly. “How could she possibly do those vicious, horrifying things? To preserve her angelic image in your mind, everything must be my fault!”

The word “love” caught me off guard, momentarily making me forget or hostility. Blake fried to reach for me but winced as the movement palled at his did.
Then his smile turned cruel. “Too bad I could never love you.”
I nearly laughed at myself. I was just a new toy to Blake, something but briefly seemed interesting. He’d been pursued by countless women his entire life. He was pred to monding through them like a butterfly through flowers, never getting attached
Of come bé couldn t love me. Id always known that.
A deathly silence filled the car. Blake’s breathing grew labored, his emotional state clearly worsening his physical condition
“If anything happens to my dad,” he threatened, “I will never forgive you. You’d better pray he’s alright.”
So what if he never forgave me? As long as he wanted a child, divorce was inevitable.
After a brief silence that felt like an eternity, I turned my y gaze to the window and quietly reminded him, “As your wife, I won’t allow
