Divorcing My Husband Over His Stepsister's Secret novel Chapter 131

Chapter 131

Anna’s POV:

war shaking uncontrollably when Seth bent down and wrapped his arms around me.

Surprisingly, he was trembling more than I was. The usually arrogant cocky Seth Price was at a loss for words, mumbling incoherently as he tried to comfort me.

His strong arms engulfed me completely, and I could feel his racing Heartbeat against my cheek.

This embrace meant more than a thousand words. I’d resigned myse to facing the social media storm alone, waiting for the internet to eventually forgetabout me.

But in that moment, with the weight of public shame crushing down on me, I realized I wasn’t alone. Seth was here, offering silent support when words failed.

This hug gave me warmth that even my husband couldn’t provideor wouldn’t. The realization stung.

Seth was like a night light for menot particularly bright or dazzling like Blake’s blinding spotlight, but enough to illuminate my path home when everything else had gone dark.

I’m fine now,I said, patting his shoulder lightly!

Yeah, I knew you would be. You are a strong woman,Seth replied with his trademark smirk, but his eyes remained concerned.

As we headed to my place, I found myself thinking that having a childhood friend wasn’t so bad after all, even if that friend was my lifelong nemesis.

But before I could even finish that thought, Seth said, It’s not a big deal. You’ve got a perfect body!

When the elevator arrived at my building, I tried to close the door on him, jabbing the close doorbutton repeatedly.

Hey! Have you no conscience? I just rescued you!he protested, jamming his foot in the door and wincing dramatically.

Get out! A man and woman alone together? You’re not coming to my place,I said, trying to push him away, my palm flat against his chest.

What man? You’ve never even treated me like a man!Seth forced his way in, his shoulder bumping against mine.

We fought over the elevator buttons like childrenhim pressing every floor, me trying to stop himuntil a warning sound blared. The noise startled us both into a momentary truce.

At my apartment door, Seth looked around the hallway with a critical eye and said, So this is where you live? I have an empty apartment across the street in Back Bay. I could buy it for you to live in. We were neighbors as kids anyway. Or you could just move in with me and save me some money.

Shut up. Do you even hear yourself?I rolled my eyes, fumbling with my keys. You sound ridiculous.

His face turned serious, all humor vanishing. Tell me about the photo. What happened?

The question dragged me back to the hospital, to Blake’s cold stare boring into me, to the shock that paralyzed me when I re what was happening.

I tried to push away the memory, but Seth noticed my expression changing. He reached out and messed up my hair, like he used to

do when we were kids.

What’s wrong with you?I snapped, swatting his hand away..

Was it Blake? His eyes flashed with murderous intent, his jaw tightening.

1 shook my head. It was Claire.

He paused, confusion crossing his features. I didn’t say I don’t believe you. I’m Seth said, looking genuinely perplexed, running his hand through his curls.

just trying to figure out how to deal with a woman!
