Chapter 201
Anna’s POV:
the elevator climbed toward the upper floors of the hospital familiar sense of dread washed over me.
I couldn’t shake the feeling that something was wrong. Every time I found myself in a hospital, something bad happened. It was like a twisted pattern in my life.
When the doors opened to the VIP floor, I noticed the difference immediately.
There was no harsh antiseptic smell here–instead, a subtle floral fragrance hung in the air. The floors gleamed, the lighting was soft, and everything screamed luxury.
It reminded me of William’s room when he was hospitalized. Blake would have made sure his father received the very best care money could buy.
As I walked down the corridor, I heard a commotion coming from one of the rooms ahead.
“Ouch! I’m paying a fortune here, and you can’t even give me a decent nurse? What kind of incompetent are you?” The voice was high–pitched and demanding.
“I’m sorry, ma’am, but you moved during the injection. That’s why-”
“Get away from me! I want someone else! Look at this bruise you’ve given me!”
“I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean to-”
“Get me the hospital director! Now! I’m filing a complaint!”
A young nurse burst out of the room, her eyes wet with tears. On instinct, I reached out and stopped her.
“Is the patient in there named Scarlett?” I asked, though I already knew the answer.
The nurse nodded, wiping her tears.
Everything clicked into place in my mind. The pieces of the puzzle suddenly fit together with horrifying clarity
Without hesitation, I kicked the door open and stormed inside. Scarlett was lying in the hospital bed, her indignation. When she saw me, she initially brightened, assuming I was the hospital director.
“About time! Did you see what that incompetent nurse-”
twisted in
I didn’t let her finish. In three strides, I crossed the room, grabbed a fistful of her hair, and yanked her to the floor. She screamed as she fell, and I aimed a kick directly at her injured side.
“What the–Anna?!” she gasped, struggling to catch her breath. “Help! Someone help me!”
But no one came. I dragged a chair over and sat down, watching as she painfully pulled herself up to sit on the edge of the bed.
“Scarlett, you need to drop the charges against Emily,” I said, my voice deadly calm.

Chapter 201
Her eyes narrowed, and a sigirk played across her lips despite her obvious pain. “Oh? So you do care about someone after
all?”
“Emily has nothing to do with this. Whatever issue you have with me, deal with it directly.”
*Ha!” she spat. “Anna, you’ve never known what it’s like to lose something important. Maybe it’s time you learned that
lesson. I will never drop those charges.”
Something snapped inside me. I grabbed the vase from her bedside table and hurled it against the wall. It shattered, water and flowers spilling across the floor.
“Go ahead!” she shrieked. “Break everything! Whatever you do te me, I’ll make Emily suffer twice as much!”
“You’re insane,” I said. “What did we ever do to you?”
“You started this!” she hissed through clenched teeth.
I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. In her twisted mind, she actually believed she was the victim.
“Scarlett, don’t think that just because you’re with Blake, you can do whatever you want,” I warned. “Everything you have is just what he’s chosen to give you. If you think you can send my friend to prison on your own, you’re delusional.
“Me and Blake?” she laughed weakly, steadying herself against the bed as she struggled to stand. Even in her weakened
state, the hatred in her eyes burned bright.
“What does it matter if it’s all from him? At least I’m in the best hospital now. I have money and connections. What do you
have left, Anna?”
She stepped closer, wincing. “I can’t stand seeing you with nothing, yet still refusing to bow your head. Not everyone is born with your privileges. I’m teaching you that sometimes, you have to know when to submit.”
I moved forward until our faces were inches apart and tapped her cheek condescendingly. “And what if I don’t?”
Her face flushed red with anger.
“You don’t even want Blake anymore, but you still try to take him from me! He was supposed to accompany me to the charity gala, but the moment he heard you were in trouble, he abandoned me at the Crown Club. Do you know how humiliating that was?”
She was panting now, her words coming in a rush.
“My company’s project was going perfectly until you interfered. Now everyone knows it failed, and I’m a laughingstock! And when I finally got that TV hosting job, all anyone asked about was where you were. People attacked me online, saying
I stole your position!”
“Scarlett-
